Alfred Hitchcock Psycho

That surreal dream spoken of by Pietro Minchiadura was drawn by Salvador Dali.

I respond to Sabatino, agreeing with you about L'ombra del dubbio, even if in my opinion it doesn't reach the perfection of Psyco. However, the other man (based on a story by the great Patricia Highsmith) is a great film. As for Delitto Perfetto mentioned by lemuro, it’s an extraordinary example of how a story can keep the audience on the edge of their seats, despite being filmed practically in just one room. (Like Nodo alla gola) Most of the master's films are quite beautiful.

Dear kosmogabri, it's not a problem. The poster is beautiful.

Besides Psycho, in my opinion, Hitchcock's best films are Rear Window, Dial M for Murder, North by Northwest, and why not, also Frenzy. We all have our own tastes, all respectable.
David Cronenberg La Mosca (The Fly)
Voto:
You are right when you say that Cronenberg creates horror not to scare, but to disgust. I haven't seen The Fly, but I've seen Naked Lunch and Dead Ringers, and it's especially for the latter that I agree.

As far as I know, in Italy the Hitchcock film is titled Psyco. Just as I wrote in the review.

I don't like overly long reviews, so I've deliberately omitted some information. The film was shot with a television crew and on a low budget that he personally financed, striking the biggest deal of his life; he banned the entrance of films in theaters once filming began and bought all of Bloch's books before the film was released. It took a week and I don't remember how many cameras to shoot the forty seconds of the shower scene. The director appears in a scene wearing a cowboy hat, and his daughter also has a small role in the film; the opening credits are by Saul Bass and the score by Herrmann. It received four Oscar nominations without winning any (it never won), and the film was remade almost identically by Gus Van Sant. I haven't even mentioned some very interesting sequences, such as when Marion is cornered and interrogated by a police officer, and shortly after, when she exchanges her car with a used car salesman, watched by the officer who is often filmed from a distance, when Norman makes the car disappear in the swamp and for a few seconds it seems reluctant to sink, when Arbogast is killed by Norman's "mother," when the embalmed skull is revealed, etc. The review would have at least doubled in length and I would have also revealed the plot, which I didn't want to do because some (few) haven’t seen it.

I forgot to mention that I paid less than 4 EURO for it.

I own the CD Midnight Special by this great artist, which I listen to regularly because Leadbelly becomes a little more appealing with each listen.
Michelangelo Antonioni L'Avventura
Voto:
I don't budge my judgment one millimeter; for me, it's a great film, not boring at all, indeed the best by Antonioni, who remains one of the greatest in Italian cinema.
