In my opinion, Cronenberg is the only director who can create unease and repulsion, moving from the eyes directly into the labyrinths of the brain.

I respect everyone's opinions, DeBaser is a great site precisely because of this. Condensing it in a few words, in my opinion, Argento's films are blood-soaked thrillers with gruesome scenes, films of mortifying stupidity, as well as being incorrect, because they are constantly seeking shock.

What I think of Dario Argento's films I've already written in the comments of the review of Suspiria. A film with a good soundtrack, a weak plot, the rest is just slaughter. Especially the scene where the old lady killer is gruesomely decapitated. That's how I feel.

For me, the plot matters a lot in a thriller (I'm not referring to Suspiria), what you say: even with a banal story, masterpieces can be created, because cinema is art and art is often an ode to the banal and the everyday... it's true, but I like certain types of thrillers, like those I mentioned in the first comment. I've been a crime enthusiast since I was young; at twelve, I already bought my first encyclopedia, which I devoured voraciously.
