he fell madly in love with Tippi Hedren (I don't know if I spelled it correctly), she was the mother of Banderas' wife.

Seen too long ago to express a judgment on the film. The review is excellent.

alessioIRIDE, I see that you’ve done your research because in one of your comments you wrote: hitler declared war on russia, operation barbarossa, just to keep the soldiers and civilians in good spirits... which, as I’ve already mentioned, is nonsense. It’s well known that Hitler’s initial intentions were to occupy Great Britain. Similarly, it’s known that Russia resisted thanks to American help with the "Lend-Lease" war decree. In fact, "pourquoipas" has already pointed this out in his post. You also write: bubi I don’t understand what your problem is??? What do you want, what’s missing for you?..... I don’t get why you wrote that, but if I’m missing something, and if I have problems, if you don’t mind, that’s my own business. Anyway, I inform you that I’m quite normal. As for your opinions, I wouldn’t dream of not respecting them; opinions are valued equally whether they come from a Catholic or a Communist. With that, I say goodbye.

I also agree that among the German soldiers there were many good people. I read somewhere that the extermination camps were created partly because many soldiers could not bear the massacres and the cruelties carried out in the open field. My uncle, for example, who died in that campaign, was definitely a good person. I know this even though I never met him, but I know well his eight brothers and sisters, all good and honest fathers and mothers.

Indeed, one has to consider that without Italy, the Germans might have fared better. That circumstance you mentioned delayed the attack on Russia by more than a month. Then, Hitler's strategic mistakes did the rest. The Wehrmacht, with almost three million soldiers, nearly brought the Soviet Union to its knees. Mussolini, convinced of the victory of the German armies, sent the ARMIR to support them, only to join in the feast himself once the war was over.

alessioIRIDE, since you don't respond, because you can't respond, I'm trying to briefly explain why Hitler attacked Russia. Not certainly to keep the soldiers and civilians safe... that's nonsense. Setting aside his visceral hatred for Gypsies, Jews, Slavs, etc., Hitler planned Operation Barbarossa to conquer new resources, industrial, agricultural, but especially the oil resources of the Caucasus. He invaded the Soviet Union, against the advice of his generals, who were well aware of the risks involved in opening another front. His famous phrase "morsches gebaude," roughly translated to "rickety building," referred to Russia, meaning he considered it a giant with feet of clay. "Just kick the door, and the rickety building will collapse" (This is the full quote). But he was wrong, because after initial stunning victories, Moscow managed to hold on. Later, the Russians reorganized, managing to turn the tide of the conflict in the battles of Stalingrad and Kursk. In reality, by the time the United States entered the war directly, Germany's fate was already sealed.
