I liked it, a well-deserved full three. However, Mason's "Fictitous Sports" is definitely not bad, indeed... Perhaps the best solo album released... despite the fact that he only produced it and played the drums.

Rather than downloading "always on the run," download the original, a certain "Supertition" by a certain wonder boy Stefano.... :-)
D.A. Pennebaker The Complete Monterey Pop Festival - Criterion Collection (1967)

Actually, the DVD you're talking about is a documentary that came out in theaters in the early 70s... Besides, it's true, Clapton met Hendrix in '66 when the latter had just arrived in England. He took part in a jam with Cream, leaving Clapton stunned... This all happened in the winter of 1966, several months before this performance... The anecdote you refer to "there is" perhaps is the one recounted by Townsend, in which he described the dispute that occurred backstage between the Experience and the Who over who should play first, both having a "destructive" show in their repertoire; in the end, after it was decided that the Who would play first, Hendrix said he would play to the best of his ability and climbed on a chair, performing a solo that amazed everyone present in that dressing room... As for the Hendrix DVD, I believe it's better to own the complete concerts of Berkeley (despite the poor film quality, it's one of the best concerts ever in my opinion), Woodstock, and Monterey...

It’s not like the Grateful of '67 sound particularly current today...
William Friedkin L'esorcista (versione integrale)

Indeed, "l'esorciccio" is absolutely unmissable in its total madness!!!! Far from Friedkin.
Ruggero Deodato Cannibal Holocaust
Voto:
What hypocrisy though.... No one gets upset about what's happening in the slaughterhouses, but the important thing is not to show it. Oh, and for me, Pierino against everyone deserves 5 stars!!!!!!! Haha!!

It's a good film, even from the perspective of an atheist (me). The direction is very good, the pacing is there. The importance of silences and the great sound dynamics are beautiful. A few slips here and there, but ultimately undoubtedly a classic.

Penniman is Little Richard..... Blackmore, although he might be my favorite guitarist, is known for his instability in live performances; just listen to "California Jam 74" or "live in Stockholm 72" to get an idea. The fact is that in studio performances (especially in Burn and Stormbringer) he is simply divine....
