I don't decide (classify) what is good and what is not, universally. It's the music itself that does that. You can understand it or not, and still choose to adore the trash. I hope that's clear. In any case, it's your own stance on the issue that is offensive.
Anyway, the review itself, which is the basis of the "discussion," is gratuitous and useless, shooting at a red cross that pleases no one. Honestly, there's really nothing to say musically about this guy that hasn't already been thoroughly dissected in sociological discussions as well as musical ones regarding the tastes of mass society. The artistic sensitivity of an entire society is certainly not established by slamming its products, which start from the assumption of being simply that. To rebel against this ends up like the Futurists, often saying and doing nonsense and "conforming in anti-conformism," which is as ridiculous as consumerism itself. I would therefore say that in the future it would be better if Debaser remained a purely musical information site and continued to talk about music. Regards.

@stoney: philosophical musings aside, I believe that Facelift owes a lot to glam/street metal (Bleed the Freak above all, it sounds like a Bon Jovi track). The AIC, in the strictest sense, are not metal at all, or rather, they are not conceptually speaking, even though often the expressive means are those, but stripped of their original meaning. But to the ears of someone who hypothetically "doesn't get them," they might seem like a band that DOES metal, more or less...

In fact, I didn't say that "mine" is of absolute quality; I said that one is awful. Carducci is inferior in importance to a Pascoli or a Leopardi, and the fact that he is liked or disliked doesn't change things by a whit. Anyway, this discussion of mine is absolutely pointless, because I'm either talking to a fake (who must be having a good laugh) or to an idiot, which in either case nullifies my "efforts." Regards.

I do deign to respond to you little monkeys, because this morning I have nothing to do; I don’t see how envy fits into this, the example is quite simple: seeing, for instance, a worrying news incident, or one indicative of negative changes, annoys me or in the worst cases scares me. Seeing a low-quality film rake in the box office annoys me. Seeing low-quality music that is manufactured succeed annoys me. Mediocrity is annoying, so is the lack of talent. I couldn’t care less about the persona; the crux of the matter lies entirely in the "musical" proposal. If you like it, it’s either because you don’t understand a thing, or because you only use the left side of your brain, simple as that.

Current is current, but some tracks are a bit uninspired. Although frogs remains perhaps my favorite piece of theirs. Dirt, on the other hand, doesn’t seem too derivative to me; I too prefer the latest one, but Dirt is compositionally superior. (and with a superlative Staley)

And instead the review is very good, and from what I've heard, he's not that bad.

I blush.. @sickman87: I wouldn’t exaggerate with Cantrell, I would downsize your judgment: he made a rather uninspired album (not to say bad) with facelift, an almost masterpiece with dirt, and a great album (but ruined by the vocal overdubs, imho) with the self-titled. As for the Iron, in the end, there’s nothing but talk about them; I can only acknowledge the following they enjoy..
