I'm really sorry I couldn't make it! For this summer, I still have to see Neurosis and (maybe) King Crimson..

@cooloras: not the piece reviewed there, but the single and its chorus..

The review is good, the piece in the metal genre is excellent. The dirty production and a certain sophistication in the production side, both positive and negative, have always made them sound "special," nothing terribly square and pompous like much of today's metal. Unfortunately, the real new single, which can be found on YouTube, seems like a half-assed metalcore track with plenty of melodic choruses that really turn my stomach when I hear stuff like Atreyu... we'll see.

The album is such that I am forced to savor it for fear of getting tired of it, truly beyond any definition.. a beautiful review as usual.

I'm surprised they were playing with Radiohead, but I was referring to Jethro Tull! :D I totally agree about Einstürzende, same here in Milan.

personal experiences with pogo: Afterhours concert in Milan, I can’t even remember any of the famous, lively songs, as I was focused on anchoring myself to the ground and positioning myself like a turtle, trying not to be moved around... the pogo at that concert was ridiculously furious, and the audience singing the songs like karaoke was super annoying because it often didn't even let you hear who was on stage... At the Mars Volta concert, however, I met a group of Norwegians who were initially just amazed by the jumanji-like fervor with which people pushed against each other, only to later walk away exhausted and (negatively) surprised, waving goodbye as if to imply it wasn't for them. Things like this depend on the crowd; at the Einstürzende Neubauten concert, nobody was causing any random chaos, and I enjoyed a fantastic performance, with genuine applause and a few more lively moments, but everyone there was there to enjoy the show. Honestly, I would only pogo at a sausage festival, where the focus of fun can be just the pogo and not an exhibition that might be a bit cheesy but still enjoyable...

absolute masterpiece, very good review. Come on, let’s not get too formal about the genesis, they don’t really see a record like this.. XD @thejargonking: why this aversion to the stones? @paloz: no, better them!!
