They played for a solid three hours, an excessive live show for the most excessive band around. But it was awesome, everyone was on fire and there was a drummer who is truly a beast, I've never seen anything like it. In my opinion, they have immense potential because they have no technical limits (but too much technique can often be a limitation) and they can boast a respectable musical culture. Plus, they're really nice!

It seems interesting, I find it strange that they are English, usually not accustomed to these sounds.
Anyway, I think that mixing genres (metal jazz prog) shows a desire on the part of the band to demonstrate a certain type of musical culture, in order to belong to a sort of elite.
I often find myself hearing funk jazz or prog inserts (which have nothing to do with true prog, I would rather call it cut n'paste) that are absolutely stereotyped and stuffed into the songs just because it sounds cool. Better a sweaty band playing outdated and uninspired hard rock, but with conviction, than certain experimentations that aren’t avant-garde, but rather a lack of ideas. I will still try to give them a listen.
