@Bartle: in terms of effects, at first they sounded a bit "fake" to me too (thanks to all the rather obvious references).. But damn, with repeated listens, the songs definitely pulse! It’s a hypnotic flow that slowly drew me in. The Directions To Look At The Ghost feel more mature and "determined" compared to the already good debut. And then combining with this confidence the Pink Fluid of '67 with the healthy oblivion of the VU ("Mission District," or the Sixties/Wave light of "18 Years") really appeals to me. By the way, these gloomy Texans are present in the soundtrack of "No Country for Old Men."

In fact, improperly naming Coppola and "Apocalypse Now" on this page is blasphemous, damn it. A colossal work that digs deep into the black hole of humanity, unlike those fucking moralizations with stars & stripes and a finale that zooms in with the big flag in the background...
