Bjork, even in the '90s, her best period, has always been more form than substance; more focused on 'dressing' her songs with the sounds that surrounded them – and not on the musical meat, the essence ( poetically 'l'aenima') of a song. In short, the Pokémon of Iceland is not the Kate Bush of 'The Dreaming,' who 25 years ago combined avant-garde and pop, ethnic and folk with a truly instinctive and 'warm' approach. Now, excuse me everyone, but I’m off to grab a beer after this big rant (and I’m waiting in vain for Duff Beer to respond).
