great book.

Well done Syd, you've consistently improved since the early reviews. I don't know the album, I'm not a big fan of Gabriel, but it seems to me that for the most part in recent years he has limited himself to releasing compilations with old songs re-recorded. What a shame.
Lou Reed Berlin - Lady Day

Beautiful, at least it doesn’t follow the usual patterns. The album, what can I say?, is my favorite of the filthy.
Lucio Dalla Com'è profondo il mare
Voto:
Beautiful review, stunning album, in my opinion his best, filled with poetic melancholy from the first to the last note.

I don't know them, like the whole Japanese crew, but you always write well and always thoughtfully.
Paul Kossoff Back Street Crawler

Beautiful writing, as usual. I just don't fully agree with the technique you're talking about; to me, he’s always seemed like a very solid guitarist, well-grounded but without excessive flourishes. In short, I believe "fire and water" (the song) perfectly represents the character... but it’s also possible that I’m mistaken; I’ve never really understood much about guitarists.

The Beach Boys The Smile Sessions

I didn't hear the album. Anyway, smiley smile is from '67, not 2004, just like Wild Honey. In the following 2/3 albums, remnants of the deceased smile will always emerge (surf's up is one of these, for example). I didn't really like the review; it was a bit too convoluted without saying much.
