Hi everyone. I know the band in person, and I have to say that, aside from the obvious derivativeness (is that the right word?), their songs have a remarkable spark, especially for a debut album. I know they'll be at Radio Tandem for a small performance on February 5th, so if you're up for it, give them a listen :) @[proggen_ait94] you totally nailed it :D :D :D

I almost forgot, great review as usual. It's not the first time I've told you this, you're one of the few remaining reserves (in the Indian sense of the term) of "classic" writing. Keep it up!

Hi Zaire, I'm glad to be the first to comment. During this Christmas season, Trout Mask is truly phenomenal, like cheese on macaroni just to make a comparison related to these days. I listened to the album for the first time years ago, I must have been 22, when I got really into this stuff, but I never managed to get into it. Who knows, maybe now I'll appreciate it more. I know Uncle Lester spoke highly of Beefheart's later works; do you know anything more about them?

Would this be a review? I’ll pass. Beyond the terrible format, I completely disagree with what you’ve written; the album is one of the best of 2015 and one of the best of the 2010s in the realm of electronic music. I agree that it’s hard to talk about it without resorting to clichés or nudging acknowledgment, which is why perhaps it’s better to remain silent. Gosh and The Rest is Noise are perhaps the best tracks, along with that wonder of Loud Places right behind. This isn’t about pop music; maybe it’s you who hasn’t really understood this work. It embodies the music of these years and even of the future, a music that has completely abandoned rock, pop, and even the stylistic features of last century's electronic music to embrace something broader that we still need to decipher. We will only know in the coming years, probably, and beyond the fact that this album is already a classic now, it will be even more so in the years to come.
