I'm a bit late, but I’ll try to respond to Iside anyway. In my opinion, De André is, together with Battisti, one of the few who has truly brought something genuinely new to Italy, so he deserves admiration and appreciation for that alone. Musically speaking, perhaps Battisti is superior (but that’s another discussion), and indeed I prefer "Rimini" or the albums from "Creuza de Ma" onwards, up to "Anime Salve," which might be the pinnacle in this sense. It’s just a matter of musical growth, nothing more.
