small protest: "legendary red-light cinemas?" cadmium! they represent the most decadent, sad, and disreputable aspect of an urban context! Thank goodness they are extinct!!! but for heaven's sake! Legendary cleeneex, legendary obese cashiers who ask for your ID, legendary the posters with black censor stripes, legendary the person who cleaned up the sperm. Come on, now please everyone say something legendary!

I repeat, I like to label and classify, but many hate me for it. Defining is a critical key to interpretation and understanding, but since it is a personal interpretative fragment, it can easily be contested and attacked. Regarding Metheny, I took the liberty of defining some of his works as Garage Jazz. Some appreciated it, others did not. The "buts" are commonplace in matters like these. I enjoy this. Think about when we review on deBaser and at the moment of classification, we have to mark a little check in a box. There are 100 genres listed (some sub-genres), and many times I wish others would be added, but we must, shall we say, settle for these partial classifications. There could also be 1500 sub-genres, but in the end, we would get lost in excessive detail. What can I say? In the future, pass me certain statements and I will be grateful.

The book by Carr is ancient, I think from the 80s, precious material (small publishing house). I feel like rereading it. About classic jazz from the 30s and 40s, I absolutely love the book by Arrigo Polillo, Mondadori editions (one of the greatest jazz critics, but with his idiosyncrasies regarding John Coltrane) which covers everything. An anti-woman who is my Jesus. Do you know? It's been years since I’ve been rereading the bio of Viva on Pat, and it often refers me back to his masters (Montgomery), for whom I still need to do a thorough analysis. I like to dwell until nausea on individual authors...
