@ muffin: don't get me wrong. burloni is very friendly. there's no lack of respect. how would you define free if not with adjectives that simulate a kind of playful confusion? in short, I wanted to convey... don't get me wrong, that's all!

The mistake about lonely is crazy, both in how it came about and how it's presented. Let me explain. Discussing with an Italian friend, a good guitarist, I hear him say that Pat rearranged the piece from scratch (just like he did with Giant Steps by Coltrane). I trust him. Listen after listen, I think it is INDEED TURNED UPSIDE DOWN, and I see very little similarity with the pieces. But Coleman is a little devil, and I want to believe that PAT has put things in order and trust my friend’s insistence. Instead, his false intuition led me to the same mistake. Moreover, I don’t know Horace's piece... and here’s how. Of course, I made the mistake of not seeking confirmation. Thanks again to Giovanni.

I saw it last night. Now I can vote for the film. Well done, Giamatti. It's a grotesque little story, and for a moment I thought it was a great ad for Californian wine. I also confirm my rating for the review.

not bad your review. it's a 5. and the cd is astronomical. I listened to it in Vienna at a megastore that no longer exists. standing for a good half hour observing the people passing by in the store with this music in my ears. I felt like I was wrapped in an absurd aura, perceptions activated exponentially, like a sparkling substance in circulation. and in the end, the surreal and impactful return to reality. at times it exudes a classical freshness, at others a scattered order. truly valid. a coleman always above himself. an absurd prophet narrating lunar concepts. I don't own it, but it's on my gift list.

Avoiding the deviant controversies, I agree with your statement "not the masterpiece." It's not among my favorites.

grass! I would never recommend it for beginners. Never. It's madness. Of Coltrane, among all, Giant Steps is the one that best represents him. It's just a year prior to this, but it's essentially definitive and pure. It is, in essence, the musical translation of the freshest and most immediate experiments that were beginning to take shape. Here (with Crescent) we are already beyond. Perhaps a bit too much.
