Is that enough for you?
On top of that, they take melodies they've already composed and reuse them under the pretext that the album is a "concept album" or that the song is a sequel to another. But come on, at least admit you have no ideas.
It's pointless to talk about the last horrific albums: riffs bordering on nu metal, blatant plagiarism, and obvious lack of ideas.

portnoy: the most honest one, a good drummer, a nice touch, but there are certainly better ones, just look at people like neal peart.
myung: anonymous, cold, a machine pretending to pluck the bass strings. It's worth noting his complete moral absence during live performances; it really seems like he's not alive, he puts in zero participation, just going through his bass exercises (because that's what his scores are, absolutely obscene and devoid of listenability). Truly a useless musician.
rudess: an incredibly boring keyboardist. He may be skilled, but there are many like him. The horrible solo in Metropolis and the dreadful almost dance effects in Octavarium are worth noting.

But let's move on to the individual components:
Labrie can sometimes be pleasant and equipped with good vocal technique, but he is absolutely impersonal; a voice like that has been heard many times before, a classic power metal mold. Furthermore, it comes across as too sugary and cold at certain points, lacking interpretation and personality. Not to mention some live performances where he mutilates his own songs, he can't reach them, sometimes he misses notes. In fact, it's worth noting that in CDs like Train of Thought, the vocal quality is much lower than in previous albums.
Petrucci is an anonymous guitarist, a bland copy of other guitar heroes, devoid of emotion, and rarely pulls out an audible melody from his guitar. Not to mention his horrendous hyper-fast solos that lack body and soul, senseless and pointless.

So, "through her eyes" is an incredibly sweet love song, and plus, Labrie has the voice of a perfect pop star, syrupy, without any bite. Moreover, the songs contain horrible solos, like "metropolis," a disgusting bass solo (it'll be tough, but when you hear it, it sounds like the noise of a washing machine from the '80s) and guitar and keyboard solos that seem to be straight out of Super Mario; but musicians like you contemplate and worship these parts "because they are difficult to play" "because they are impossible to execute." For example, take "dance of eternity": the only nice thing in that mishmash is the charming fusion-style keyboard solo, which, by the way, is nothing new, stuff we've heard twenty years ago; the rest is a mix of senseless technique without taste, and don't tell me it has a defined melody or any meaning that song, it's just technique for its own sake, and unpleasant to boot.

Just because debaser is a serious site, I'm fed up with seeing four idiots who worship these machines that pretend to create music.
The weak points of Dream Theater? Absolutely academic and school-like compositions, bland, plagiarized (I even remember that when Train of Thought came out, they spread an mp3 that clearly showed the DT had copied Blackened by Metallica and, believe it or not... a song by Britney Spears!!! I'm not joking!) EXTREMELY COMMERCIAL melodies; just listen to Hollow Years (a shamelessly pop song); once while I was listening to it, my cousin thought it was The Calling. Can't you all realize how predictable and commercial they are?

Matt7, you are the most bland and incompetent person when it comes to music, you are filling Debaser with crap. You don't understand a damn thing, you’re arrogant, you think you’re a guitar hero, you always want to be right… you make me feel sorry for you, you are the classic example of a failed guitarist who now stands behind his teacher wanking off to Petrucci's 495984 notes.

I'm coming to be the usual jerk. They criticized him in an educated and argumentative way. I simply say: they are just a huge piece of crap.

buhahahahahah fuck off, clown! Envy of what? I've always listened to and played the music that I love. You, on the other hand, keep jerking off while you watch some loser smashing on the guitar or Labrie singing fluffy songs. MUSIC REQUIRES SOUL, SOMETHING THEY LACK, AND THEY MASK IT (ESPECIALLY IN OCTAVARIUM) WITH CLICHÉ SOLUTIONS, EVEN RECYCLING MELODIES FROM THE PREVIOUS ALBUM, SAYING: "OH BUT IT'S A CONTINUATION!" FUCK OFF. Screw you and that idiot Myung, who when he plays sounds like a typewriter, THE COLDEST AND MOST USELESS BASSIST IN THE WORLD. HIS SONGS SOUND LIKE BASS EXERCISES.

FINALLY, A REVIEW THAT DOES JUSTICE TO THIS DAMN ALBUM.
But there will always be those annoying little prog fans who will get all excited watching Petrucci shred like he's giving a handjob, and the "music geniuses" who will worship them because "they know music" and because "they can play."
But they're just fucking clowns, open your eyes, idiots.

The truth is that Dream Theater is the most anonymous and ridiculous band of the last twenty years.
