The review isn't bad but doesn't say anything about the album. It could almost seem like a concept, but instead, it isn't. No comment on the album.

"one of the most overrated groups in the history of prog, appreciated only in Italy and Belgium. The voices of Collins and Gabriel are horrifying, among the most cacophonous ever heard, metallic and cold like cyborgs." Post placed here just to spark discussion, which by the way hasn't even started. I don't think Genesis are overrated, at least not those of these albums.

I think you're mistaken, I didn't make the speech about the outtakes. I'm listening to Rainbow, what a voice Ronnie James Dio has!

I still like Abacab for certain tracks, Abacab, me and Sarah, Dodo,...

Yes, but it's one out of 54 minutes of music. And what is "More fool me"? A little song with lyrics like those of Follow You Follow Me, but since it's from the Gabriel era (even though Collins sings it), everyone is drooling over it.

If I may say, Collins's voice reaches higher notes, it is technically broader compared to Gabriel's, although a bit more sterile; Gabriel had a more enveloping voice. We're still talking about master singers, my friends... And then I read that Gabriel claimed to have always been inspired by Phil Collins in his singing style, perhaps that's why they resemble each other. When I first got "Selling England...", I also struggled to tell them apart, but now I've got my ear trained. Anyway, for those who say that after "Wind and Wuthering" they turned to pop music, they should listen to "And then..." and "Duke"...

You could have done a better review. The album is a masterpiece, one of the best by Genesis: I agree with Pi.Per., Hackett's departure was much harder, although up until the wonderful Duke, they held up very, very well. An album definitely less botched than "The lamb lies down on Broadway" (which for me is still a solid 5).

Wow, what a powerful live performance. But the peak of energetic explosion, in my opinion, can be found in Live Killers by Queen (listen to Roger Taylor on this album).

I think I'll download it. A 5 for the report.
