From my side, I'll add A Passion Play, Thick as a Brick, A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers. However, when it comes to progressive suites, names like Close to the Edge, Supper's Ready, Tarkus, and Thick as a Brick are immediately brought up, right off the bat. I still consider "Nine Feet Underground" a proto-suite (personal considerations); it seems closer to things like "In Held 'Twas In..."; it’s worth mentioning that it is from 1971, and the true progressive suites were still in the process of being developed, with the explosion (except for Tarkus and the inimitable Lizard) happening in 1972. Moreover, "Nine Feet Underground" still exhibits a level of improvisation that is "too" high. With this, I don't want to diminish it; for me, it's a real gem and certainly worth more than "Third Ear Band" (another personal consideration).

Yes Hetzer, that doesn't take away from the fact that "Supper's Ready" is in some way a symbol.

Yes, come on Pretazzo, I don't want to continue with the usual rant, but can you really compare Genesis (especially those from this era) with the Third Ear Band? I mean, Genesis, not just some common freak show. Well, different strokes for different folks...

True, I wish Britney sang stuff like Follow you Follow me.

And you put me on the same level as Third Ear Band and Foxtrot? Come on, Foxtrot is one of the symbols of progressive rock, never self-indulgent; it practically contains the ultimate suite (I'm not even going to mention the title), it has influenced a ton of artists with its sound (without pulling out names like Marillion, who blatantly copied), and even Yes with "Tales..." were influenced by it. "Foxtrot" and "Selling England By The Pound" are rock history, a music school, and it's not just me saying it; now I'm not saying that "Third Ear Band" is crap (on the contrary), but let’s try to think about it: can it be acknowledged the same merits as Foxtrot? (OPEN QUESTION FOR EVERYONE) Responses of all kinds are welcome, praise, insults...

I also like the after '77 (Even if...). Anyway, I'm glad you think that way.

Come on, don’t tell me that ā€œThird Ear Bandā€ can compete with ā€œFoxtrot.ā€ Come on, I also drool over albums like ā€œCaronteā€ by Trip, but I'm certainly not going to preach about its immense greatness or its superiority over certain sacred monsters (for those who want to know more, I’ve even reviewed it). It’s just an album I’m fond of and always enjoy listening to.

And anyway, the drum kit without cymbals was also an idea by Collins, and nobody ever mentions it. Well, if there’s one thing I like about this record, it’s when Collins plays.

For Riccardo: the Third Ear Band’s record is objectively and subjectively inferior to Foxtrot, and sorry if I keep bringing up Genesis. Isn’t it true?

I don't see any differences between Genesis in the '80s and Gabriel in the '80s; in fact, the Genesis are even better (Duke is from the same year as this album, and it's a whole different thing). It's still synthetic pop for Yuppies, just like the Genesis. A pathetic 3.
