I mean execution technique, not emotions. The defeat of Pooh compared to Le Orme is evident.

Lupin, you are perfectly right, Le Orme (which, among other things, are my favorite band) are on another planet, but one cannot deny a certain quality to albums like this and others from the '70s (by the Pooh). That said, purely on the technical execution (so let's leave feelings, emotions, etc., aside), the Pooh are better prepared: the vocals, the bass, Dodi Battaglia's guitar, are undeniable strengths. With that, I do not want to diminish the greatness of Le Orme, who are and will remain my favorite band since I was 4-5 years old.

A rather mixed review. The lyrics, however, are quite mature; it's just that in recent years Mogol had been delving into more earthly themes, focusing on the little things, domestic chores, household matters, and so on. It may sound silly, but put simply, that's how it is. You can't keep returning to Giardini di Marzo, Canti liberi, Cari Angeli,... even though they too are masterpieces (or capilavoro?). And here comes the renewal, analyzing the more minute and earthly aspects of couple and family life, a meal, washing the dishes, and various other mundane tasks. Musically, we’re quite solid: warm sounds and perfect harmony between synths and the rest. Is it an '80s album? Maybe, but it holds up just fine; although I must admit, I only see the binary rhythm of the Title Track as a nod to the '80s, and little else. I would tone down the trumpets here and there, but Battisti has always had that penchant. Come on, gems like "Con il nastro rosa" are timeless.

Damn this record: just John Lawton's voice on "Moonshine Rider" and "Blind Boy" is worth a 5. For me, the best of Lucifer's Friend is Banquet.

But who are the "Gusn' n' Ross" that you mention towards the end of the review?
Le Orme Verità nascoste
Voto:
"area=coherence" yes, just them who in 1978 made "1978: the gods go away, the angry remain", which is not a bad album, but it has now become pop, and compared to their debut, it seems recorded by another band: a move that is definitely inconsistent with the ideas of the very early Area. Le Orme, when disco and punk were all the rage, turned to acoustic music and emerged victorious again with Florian (1979): now that was a heroic move.
Le Orme Verità nascoste

One of the best albums by Le Orme. Together with "Storia o Leggenda," it invents the new wave (also the single "Sera," from 1975) in Italy. In my opinion, the best Italian band of all time and one of the greatest progressive bands ever. Area were at times embarrassing and lacked musical balance, and as we know, extremes can be a hassle after a while. Banco is a great band, but after the first three albums, they lost their way. Personal opinion.
