More than 10 years after the last comment, I'm writing just to keep the spotlight on Nasum, a grind band that I believe is unmatched. For me, all four of their albums are masterpieces, but this one and Helvete are a little bit more so. Mieszko, absolute genius, thank you.

It would be nice to wait at least for the release date before writing a review. Anyway, the review is well written, and I won't comment on the album since it came out yesterday and I haven't listened to it yet.

There is a lot of discomfort in your review, and that brings sadness. Have you resolved your issues in these 10 years?

wonderful album and great review, congratulations.
I'm listening to the last one these days but I don't know, I still haven't figured it out..
Pain Of Salvation Remedy Lane

Fandango sounds identical to Gentle Giant, Opeth, and a certain Nordic metal like Katatonia; nonetheless, it often emerges throughout the album. This record made me a bit angry due to the endless (definitely too many) references to past bands.

after the masterpiece "the perfect element" comes this. let's just say it left me somewhat perplexed. as mentioned, "the perfect element" remains one of the most beautiful things I've listened to in recent years, while "remedy lane" is more of a mixed bag, with some great tracks and some that call back to past bands (the third track perfectly captures the '70s prog vibe, particularly Gentle Giant, while the fourth track has an introduction that's practically identical to "the red barchetta" by Rush, perhaps a tribute; in "chain sling," there's a sort of nu-metal sound reminiscent of System of a Down, though obviously different, etc. etc.). it's a nice album, but it has lost the wonderful "originality" of the previous one. it almost seems like for "the perfect element" they made a pact with the devil, and everything since has declined, starting from this "remedy lane" and culminating in the half obscenities recorded lately.

Great review, for me it's a 5-star album, maybe even more.
However, I don't understand the debate that arose in the other review between gothic rock and gothic metal, what sense does it make?
Moreover, even if they don't sound like Paradise Lost, they're definitely closer to them than to The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, etc.
This album has an incredible heaviness; okay, there's a need to categorize everything, but if this isn't metal, then Pantera are playing rock and roll.
