I looked stupid, deleted half a comment: "great review, but the statement that it would be the last album is complete nonsense!!!!!"

Beautiful, but the statement that this would be the last album before the CD era is a huge load of nonsense!!!!!!

Hi sotanaht, just a note: Quorthon openly admitted that he had written a lot of nonsense at the beginning of his career on his own initiative, to seem as extreme as possible, so even he didn't take his "philosophy" of life seriously; Ishan (a truly brilliant musician) was actually one of the most ignorant "minds" behind the Norwegian events; he participated in church burnings, praised Vikernes when he thought he had killed Andreassen (the homosexual who was actually killed by Faust), and then snitched to the police to get a shorter prison sentence (which he did), spreading strange rumors about a castle where Emperor would live to escape people wanting them dead in a holy war... I, too, love his music but don’t defend Vikernes, but from here to creating other myths that don't stand up, there's a big difference. No hard feelings. The problem with these Burzum reviews is that they are written by people who already betray a right-wing "ideology" (black behfel, him): in fact, groups on this site have been reviewed that are far worse in terms of humanity (Dissection, Kristallnacht), but only Burzum manages to spark political comments of this kind. That's why I was criticizing this reviewer.

For the sake of fairness, it could also be said that this live is completely fake, having been re-recorded in many parts in the studio, which is why God seems to be leaving the band; the quality is then subpar.

And then even from "mafia black metal" it was all clear: if you appreciated my reviews on Mayhem, you can't help but understand the irony behind the "black metal mafia" reprise...anyway, bye.

at dark kingdom: come on? of course I was joking, it’s just that when I start joking (see the review of We are the Champions by Queen) I seem serious, not like sofficino, who is a fake and talks about death metal crusades (?!?). I thought it was right to let a discussion deteriorate between someone like sofficino, a 14-year-old Nazi, various anonymous brawlers, poletti, etc. The review is anyway out of place, I don’t even understand what it wants to say, it’s neither ironic, nor detailed, nor visionary... I don’t know. p.s.: come on, dark life, it’s Christmas (ironic, right?), ask before attacking.

thank you again Golakordi, I'm glad you appreciate my reviews, but there are many reviewers better than me, I would like to recommend the pages of Memento Mori, truly wonderful.
special thanks to Foreveryoung, you are the first woman to appear in my comments section, and congratulations to you for the things I read on your personal profile. I write a lot because I mainly talk about a well-defined and specific genre, and I have briefly learned to know the genre from a "historical" perspective, which allows me to write with a certain speed. I wouldn't know how to review records from other musical realities with the same speed, even though I also listen to progressive, other forms of metal, '60s music, etc. thank you once again, happy holidays to everyone.

Hello, I am a representative of the black metal review mafia. You should notify before reviewing such an important album, thus taking away the opportunity from someone else to talk about it, clogging the database with the third review of Filosofem. Living in a community means respecting others. If you had read other reviews, you would know that there are albums that many would like to discuss in a technical way, but the dreamlike and visionary descriptions of others prevent them from doing so. There are always Cradle of Filth; consider them.

I also always look back at everything I missed in the '90s. Black metal is truly Norwegian; in England, there are a couple of bands, like Cradle of Filth, that emerged 5 or 6 years after the Scandinavian explosion. I couldn't say if this music is sincere. Considering they are printed in a few copies, I regard these honest records not as a way to make money, a bit like Maiden in the early '80s, Led Zeppelin in the early '70s, black metal in the '90s... It's true that everything derives from things already done years ago, but even grunge wasn't original, and hard rock took a lot from the rebellion of rock 'n' roll. The '80s are the years of metal, but the '90s are already those of extreme metal (death, black, industrial); now there are no more leading movements, perhaps we are moving towards something more mature... thanks, bye.
