Hi Memento; I also had some doubts about the supposed concept, but I tried to reconstruct it from some interviews given. It's possible I completely missed the mark, but at least the second and third chapters do have a military background. The future is uncertain, but at least the band officially has never broken up and is writing new material (according to what the website says) that COULD end up on a potential new album.

Good review, an album that is also new and appealing. There are some errors in the structure that still need to be polished (you emphasize the epicness of the album too much; the phrase "a hybrid between Motörhead and something else" doesn't make sense!?! You're the reviewer...)

I have never understood the Satyricon's preference for interludes, EPs, and various remixes, but it seems to me that they have negatively affected the band's career in the long run. The historical moment when the album was released could have been emphasized more; as it is, it feels a bit adrift... an unnecessary album.
