Neurosis Given To The Rising

The neuroses!!! Sure, let's also bring the Foo Fighters to the cemetery, and why not Christina Aguilera, that dark cemetery artist... anyway, very good review.

thank you all, as usual. one question? but wasn’t debaser supposed to be done for? I read editorials about its end a month ago, but honestly, aside from the chat, I don’t understand what has died...

infamous! (in a good way): I've been searching for this album online for a while, but I haven't found it yet (as I'm against buying CDs in stores...). great review especially considering it's the first one you've written, and excellent choice of the band, never covered here; this will grant you a warm welcome here at debaser. I’m giving you a solid 4 for this, although you could always say a little more about the influences, mentioning other bands, etc. well done!

It is anything but filthy and dirty; the music of Satyricon: they are the posers of Norwegian black metal...

Yes, that's fine, the review is good, but it seems more like an advertisement for the album; it's not clear why it's considered a masterpiece, the themes aren't well understood; also, there are some inaccuracies: Satyricon were still in the underground even after Dark Medieval Times; of course, A Blaze in the Northern Sky wasn't the quintessential black metal album of the era; it could have also been mentioned that Nocturno Culto from Darkthrone is featured on the album, not to mention! There were already plenty of those, more could have been said.

Thank you and don't mention it, here no one is out of place, everyone needs advice and can give it in turn. As for Vincent: no, I don't know the Thyrfing.

Thank you all. fallen: what a jerk I’ve been, I’ve had a lot of problems lately and I haven’t had time to get back to you about what we talked about. vincent: I don’t really love them, I have a couple of their records, but they didn’t blow me away; I find them a bit too polished, while I prefer the rougher music of wyrd.

it's hard to determine who is the bigger fool among the two conversing, a vulgar one and a snob who knows nothing about cinema; perhaps, however, the author as a whole is even more of a fool, considering he votes for himself...

Anathema are one of the most important bands in doom metal: however, they have slowly moved away from the genre (like other doom bands Katatonia and Paradise Lost) towards a more rock-oriented sound. I couldn't say in which album they sing clean vocals, but these solutions are often accepted in doom. Now that you mention it, you absolutely must listen to "The Angel and Dark River" by My Dying Bride, which is entirely in clean vocals and one of the peaks of English doom.
