Him And Love Said No - The Greatest Hits 1997-2004

Just a note to Lovelorn (who, by the way, must be recognized as an excellent connoisseur of his field): you criticize those who listen to him (whom I don't even like), and then on your MySpace site, you indulge in Gothic fantasies, swords, naked vampires, blood, romanticism, calling all of these things "dark." If we were to make a ranking of what is "darker" in the world, as it seems you are attempting to do, surely Bram Stoker would not make the list, nor would most of the gothic, dark, and new wave music you listen to. Isn't it rather a characteristic of poseurs to claim some rigidity or orthodoxy in what they love, without fully understanding the spirit of what they profess (come on, "dark" and vampires? Really!).

Soon, tomorrow I have the last study commitment of the season, then I'll have all the time to give birth to new monsters. Listening to the hymns for leisure is certainly more noble than listening to the abortions I hear and see on YouTube during breaks...

if luigi chiatti were to make pop, the masses would still worship him: the problem is that when culture is lacking, critical-ethical judgment towards those we listen to is also missing: I also recommend gigi d'alessio (he played at the weddings of the camorristi) and nino d'angelo (similarly), the best in italy, why limit ourselves to foreigners?

fallen comrade, the circle of black metallers invites you to return to yourself with a dose of horna at maximum volume; to the reviewer, by the way very good: are you sure that the elegy of HIM is worth that of any propertius?

It’s clear that you’re too cryptic for us. However, here it’s not questioned that you appreciated the album, or that you didn’t understand it, but perhaps simply that you couldn’t fully articulate your thoughts: one thing is to "feel," another is to communicate; you chose a review that’s halfway between passionate and technical, but often you wrote things that were imprecise or whose meaning is clear only to you. That’s all. Many also avoided voting, waiting for the next one. Perhaps for an unreleased album. See you next time, no hard feelings.

Listing the errors in this review would be quite the task. But I have time to waste: 1. Black isn't truth: what does that mean? Other genres are just as true, not least classical, punk, and prog. 2. The genre doesn't originate in the Scandinavian forests, but in the cities; in fact, it evolves from the death metal of Mayhem, Morbid, and a few other bands, all of whom are urban to the core (the passion for forests is another matter). 3. They are not the most important group in black metal; importance means relevance, weight in the scene, influence (and Darkthrone certainly hasn’t been the most important). 4. Gorgoroth didn’t lead anything since Pentagram is from 1994, which came out at least 4 years too late to have "led" the genre. 5. You can love Darkthrone above all else, but saying that these guys are on top of everything today is like saying the best are Mayhem, Emperor, and Satyricon today: all people who have lost their minds, artistically and otherwise. 6. The lyrics: first of all, I don’t think the cold causes anger in people (otherwise, you’re crazy to live there!), and then the lyrics are actually the weak point of the album, divided as they are between unlikely celebrations of nature and insults to other races. The lyrics have always been the group's weak point; just think that their best text is the one written by the Count on this album. 7. The review was done a few days ago by someone else. 8. Enough with these invitations to listen to black metal!!!! It must remain a genre for a few!!!!

I have a couple of Samael albums, but they've never impressed me much. In black metal, they were unremarkable, and in experimental music, they come second to other extreme metal bands that have ventured into different sounds. There must be a reason why they've never been a legendary band or a cult band...

I agree, but it would be an honor for him; honestly, he's such garbage that he could infect me, like corona, le veline, dani filth, beyoncé...

But look, we even argued in one of the first reviews I commented on here on the site, I remember it very well... then, no hard feelings, but here you are making things up...
