Lordi Eurofestival 2006

I neither vote for the review nor for the work, which I discovered through Sergio Messina's blog. Today (4.3.08) SM published his article on the eurofestival written for RUMORE, on his site (http://www.radiogladio.it/avvisi/2008/02/04/festival-della-canzone-pazzesca/). Lordi will surely be of interest in the eurofestival context (and from that perspective, I consider your review valid). Instead, I’m pasting the paragraph where your champions are mentioned:
"You should see the Eurofestival. Just go on Youtube and half an hour of strong laughter is guaranteed. I would start with the winning song of 2006, Hard Rock Hallelujah, by Lordi, “a Finnish hard rock/heavy metal band, known especially for the theatricality inspired by 80s horror cinema that constitutes the main, if not exclusive, theme of the group’s image and lyrics. Each member is masked as a monster and has their own nickname, in order to separate the band's fantastical imagery from the private lives of the musicians. For this reason, Lordi do not wish to be photographed without their stage costumes, and when a Finnish tabloid published a photo in which the lead singer's unmakeuped face was glimpsed, Mr. Lordi called it an insult to the band's work, which has been dedicated to building its image for ten years." (from Wikipedia): hilarious."

Finally, a review of a current album! Great band. It seems that among the clauses in the contracts for live concerts, the PF (http://www.planetfunkweb.com) includes the rental of a venue where they can throw a little party with friends. The DJ? Alex Neri, of course. Nice review, I haven't had the chance to listen to the album yet. But who is singing? The English guy (the "brawler" in a good way, a real stage animal! who is now performing as "The performer"?)
I saw them in Palermo two or three years ago. Great stage presence, especially for a dance-oriented group...

How about "keep it up"? In the meantime, FM "Mufti" Einheit and Mark Chung have left, and various Rudolph Moser, Jochen Arbeit, and Boris Wilsdorf have entered...

I appreciate the meticulous description of the stage. I would have preferred to read a bit more about the music.

I was looking for info on Akufen on Google after burning the CD for a friend (I hadn't listened to this album in months) and look where I ended up, on de-baser. Top hit #1 on the Italian pages with the search key "akufen" + "my way". Well done NANI!!!

You know Rivo: I'm insanely envious of you for the concert. I can picture you going wild like hardly ever before under the stage! You restore my faith in the BBoys. The good Sergio Messina has brought them down a notch, informing me on his blog that the BBoys' album releases an anti-piracy protection every time it's inserted into a CD-ROM drive (PC or Mac, doesn't matter) go to RadioGladio online
ps.great review!!!

I must say that I was expecting the review, but from Fosca, who mentioned it in a de-sms. Thank you for capturing the idea of the direction the EN are taking. It’s reassuring to learn that they are focusing on the latest album: after the departure of Mark Chung and FM Einheit, two members from "Die Haut" joined the band, which has created new dynamics. I hope to see them again soon. But let me understand: did they play in a theater?
Congratulations on the review.
