The Chemical Brothers We Are The Night (Promo Version)

for cptgaio: When Surrender came out, the video and the song "Hey girl Hey boy" were played non-stop, it's true! HOWEVER, most people referred to the song saying "the song with the dancing skeletons," meaning... the Chemical Brothers brand wasn't widely known commercially yet, even though the song was on the edge of commercial use.. I can tell you.. and.. trust me... that a whole lot of people still said "Chemical who?" then if you said "those with the skeletons," they'd respond "oh yesss them!!" there wasn't the real trade that happened with Push The Button, which was the best-selling album by the Chemical Brothers in Italy! Just say "galvanize" "believe" "the boxer" (maybe the last one a bit less!) and people say "chemical" if you say "chemical," people say they know them! Before, you had to say "the skeletons" at least in my town of 65 thousand inhabitants that's how it worked... then maybe in big cities everyone knew them! I don’t know… the fact remains that I knew a ton of songs by the duo long before they became commercial in Italy (except for that damn hey boy hey girl!). We are the night is a technical masterpiece! If you're nostalgic, keep going with Exit Planet Dust! I like to look beyond..

look, just because I started with "surrender" doesn't mean I missed the ones before it! Just go to the store and say "give me the earlier ones"! I know "Dig Your Own Hole" by heart! Note for note! Distortion for distortion! Sampling for sampling! It's just that I got into the Chemicals with "surrender"... and believe me when I say that in Italy they hadn't exploded yet, and people were asking, "Chemical who?" I'm not saying they were unknown... after all, "surrender" was a success here too... but the real commercial boom in Italy happened with "Push The Button"... and I'm not saying that's a good thing! The review is written like a child... and the site is...

If you think Chemical are not a noisy group... you might be confusing them with Raul Casadei hehe, and I say this as someone who listens to most of the artists in this scene. These guys... they will blow your eardrums out! Never heard anything more chaotic! And if you have any group that makes even more noise... let me know because I'm throwing a party tonight. Please don't tell me Gigi d'Agostino!!!! Thanks!!!!

"musically very poor" hehe know-it-all... I think you completely missed the point! It's like saying Pavarotti has good stage presence but a shitty voice! What you said doesn’t hold up... if you don’t like them, that’s one thing (there are those who, faced with such loud and ear-shattering tracks, just vomit!) but to say they are musically poor is blasphemy! They have practically encapsulated an era of sound and music genres, blending them with dance electronics! what the hell! hehe

For Manliuzzo: Not for now! But if I find a nice whore available who doesn’t ask for money, I’d be more than happy to! Forget about Sam Raimi!!!!!
Sam Raimi Spiderman 3

I reply to Bonny91: Yes, I'm a filmmaker, but of amateur films! I shoot short films with a simple camcorder and a good editing program. Among my inspirations, Raimi is undoubtedly the most influential! I love his "old" method of visual spectacle; I adore his acrobatic and clever shooting techniques. In my small way, I try to replicate his methods... but with a simple camcorder, I can only do what I can! As an admirer of Raimi, I can assure you that in the third Spiderman, his visionary flair is present almost like it once was! It's just that (as I've already written) today, camera acrobatics are done on the computer, while back then, Raimi did them himself! Maybe hanging from a chandelier! Unfortunately, that genius of handcrafted cinema is missing... but despite the excessive use of computer graphics, Raimi has proven he still knows how to work behind the camera! Perhaps he may no longer be the camera operator... (he definitely isn't) but he is always the one who oversees the Direction! And his touch is easily recognizable in every single frame of the action scenes. As for the film.... it's a piece of junk! I wholeheartedly miss the old Evil Dead!

Beautiful review, you managed to capture the strengths and weaknesses of this album. I also wrote a review on Invincible. If you want, feel free to read it. Bye.
For those who say that Jackson doesn’t make beautiful music… they have serious problems distinguishing good from bad.

Mike76, what you see on MTV today is just a false open-mindedness... the bigotry around today is not much different from the era of the movie... MPoletti, I partially agree with you... my introduction is clichéd even for me who wrote it... but unfortunately, and I repeat unfortunately, it is not as obvious as it seems, the sexual taboo is still not dead! And don't take Americans as an example! They are absolutely the worst of all! Is this also obvious? Yes, this it is!
Pasquale Festa Campanile Bingo Bongo

What the HELL are you saying! Bing Bongo is a masterpiece in its simplicity and purity! The story and sequences may be trash... but in this case, Trash is equivalent to ART! Because that's what people don't understand... that voluntary Trash (because let me tell you, Bingo Bongo is not an involuntary Trash, that is, it wasn't conceived as a great film for committed cinema critics...) is art! Is the dance scene in the disco trash? Yes, but UNMATCHED!!!!!! Incredible! Wonderful! Unique in the world! I really hope that one day they will return to making these trash scenes which, in my opinion, today couldn't even be achieved with effort... today we have the involuntary trash, that of Three Meters Above Heaven and the Scamarcio phenomenon! Celentano was Trash but at the same time, an immense talent, a great mime, a very funny actor, and a character with an inimitable charisma!! Maximum respect! Long live Bingo Bongo! Unfortunately, they don’t make films like this anymore!
Dario Argento Suspiria
Voto:
Fulci is a fucking genius, he has crazy ideas (original but also, it must be said, quoted and copied from American films, nonetheless reworked in a very personal way) but unfortunately he is quite limited in visual technique and direction in general. It should be noted that many, perhaps too many, still consider Lucio Fulci one of those directors to be cataloged in the B-movie Trash genre! People who obviously have not understood his genius :-) Dario Argento certainly learned a thing or two from these brilliant minds of our genuine homegrown cinema, but on his part, Argento has managed to add that personal touch, especially in the visual and qualitative aspects, which in my opinion is a notch above all the others! Suspiria is a masterpiece of world cinema! I believe that a comparison with Fulci's films is a bit too daring... with all due respect (maximum respect) for Fulci, Bava, etc.
