Funny little comedy from 1982 brilliantly performed by Adriano Celentano alongside the beautiful Carole Bouquet.
In an utterly absurd context full of idiotic scientists, Bingo Bongo (Celentano) is studied as a human-ape phenomenon. As soon as Bingo Bongo learns the basics, he starts mocking all the pseudo-researchers and escapes into the city of Milan. The human-ape finds himself catapulted into a city jungle, where not even a tree for the poor little birds will be spared to make way for rampant urbanization. Trashy are the disco scenes, trashy is the love story with Dr. Bouquet, who seems to be the only person with whom it's possible to establish a connection, trashy everything. Celentano really plays the ape well. His animalistic features help him tackle one of the most challenging roles of his career. When he learns to speak, he has no trouble with the script, articulating the few necessary lines like "her mine, you who are you?"
The ending is monstrous, where Celentano, now integrated into society, brings the voice of animals to humans, who rightly worry about environmental protection and respect. However, all these animals are liked by children, and the film, all in all, is a little story-tale suitable for young families. An Italian adaptation of the Tarzan story, it has the effect of promoting Celentano's environmental consciousness, which is in the early stages of the "championship" so dear to him. All in all, enjoyable.
