I see you have character, dear Grass... just like our Ivano. A few years ago, he came to Fano for a somewhat experimental concert for "Il Violino e la Selce." It was raining, and the organization moved the concert from outside to inside the Teatro della Fortuna. People were already quite annoyed because the organization had made a bit of a mess with the reassignment of seats. As soon as some ignorant members of the audience realized that it wasn't a classic Ivano Fossati concert (it was enough to read the poster), they started yelling all sorts of things at him, aided by the darkness of the theater... he simply responded in kind, got up without saying goodbye, and walked away... Did he do well? Did he do wrong? We talked about it all evening... I liked the concert; maybe he could have gotten through the moment and carried on, but in doing so, he kind of put himself on the same level as the ignoramuses who criticized him... however, I liked how he slammed the music sheets to the ground, closed the piano, and left... having a somewhat "fiery" character myself, I would have done the same!

I wasn't sure whether your comment was a technical judgment or related to the character! I actually appreciate him for other reasons; besides the fact that I like his music, even if he’s not my favorite artist, I love his curiosity and his spirit of exploration that have led him to traverse different musical decades, always managing to bring out something interesting and constantly reinventing himself. Moreover, I believe he is extremely self-deprecating, a trait that, combined with curiosity, is better than a youth elixir. He has "survived" the passage of time without ever descending into the ridiculous, always having something to say, just like Byrne and Bowie....

One of the must-have albums that I'm missing... I'm noting it down once and for all! Throughout the concert I attended recently, the strongest instinct was to go on stage, shake his hand, and say a big "thank you for existing".... I only felt that same sensation with David Byrne, and David Bowie would definitely give me that feeling as well; I won’t add anything else. Because overrated Zurkciolo, I'm curious to read your opinion!

I agree with Turk... Pattern Recognition is highly adrenaline-pumping... along with Stones to listen to at full volume... too bad you can't do that in the office!

Beautiful review Pluto... one of my favorite albums by Tori Amos in which she has the courage to show herself in all her complexity.... I keep a copy in the car and I can listen to Horses even ten times in a row.

No Acchino, I read an article about it that caught my interest... I’ve added it to the list (and what a list) of upcoming purchases... I’ll let you know.

Yes, Sol, I was referring to the de-basers with kids......:-) and having met Turk, I can picture him riding a bike with Sonic Youth in his headphones.
