Martin Scorsese Shutter Island

Just when I started to get bored and thought it was yet another slightly nonsensical psycho-horror-thriller, luckily the last forty minutes arrived... I agree with Hal (whom I virtually embrace) that it recycles structures we've seen before, but it’s definitely a film worth watching for Di Caprio's masterful performance and for the countless cinematic references that nod to many other masterpieces. In the end, I left wanting to watch it all over again with the benefit of hindsight...

Algol, yesterday there were a lot of children at the cinema, even younger ones... I wouldn't know what to tell you... expect many questions because the film tackles various themes like spirituality, war, and the relationship/respect for nature. I was also ready to cover their eyes, but in reality, I didn't have to do it except for one or two scenes...

I knew perfectly well I would find a review like this here, superficial and snobbish... of course the plot of the movie is predictable and weak, but I had the privilege of having my 7-year-old son beside me. The glasses bothered me only because I often turned to look at him, motionless and excited, enjoying the show. Criticizing a movie like this for its plot is ridiculous, and even more so to describe the effects as predictably "beautiful."

"Radiohead overrated by the Rolling Stone crowd and underrated by the little professors spawned by web 2.0 criticism." Holy words, Dope...

I just shared this recipe from Nigella (whom I adore) with my colleagues... remember, the arugula shouldn't be cooked but just wilted, and the quantity is up to you... Nigella conveys the joy of cooking and eating. Some recipes are complicated mainly due to the hard-to-find ingredients in Italy... but she is special and beautiful too! Actually, in her recipe instead of marjoram, there’s cumin, but I find that ingredient a bit too snobbish, so I tried using marjoram and it works just as well.
SIDE DISH: CHICKPEAS AND ARUGULA
Two cans of chickpeas
Arugula
Marjoram
Oil
Salt
Brandy (half a glass)
_________________________ _______________________________
Pour the oil into the pan and add the marjoram.
After a few minutes, add the chickpeas and sauté.
Wash the arugula and add it in.
Add salt and half a glass of brandy.
Let it evaporate and stir.
