I don't know, I liked this album, but your criticisms are certainly valid. The shadow of Coldplay occasionally appears, but devoid of Chris Martin's vocal abilities and the clarity of their compositions. Still, the fact remains that "Black And White Town" stayed on repeat 1 on my player for a long time, with its "urban" part made of chopped frequencies, backing vocals, and Motown echoes... we'll see them live in Milan, although I'm not sure if I'm going more for them or for the Low as the supporters.

beautiful album and the review really does it justice, well done samuel, float on is always a balm for sluggish moments and the world at large is a little gem, but I'm really having a hard time choosing... even black cadillacs is stunning, modest mouse couldn't have found a better way to pop, wobbly and inconsistent as never before, as if a hangover just passed (bukowski?), definitely one of my favorite albums from last year

The only cover of "Temptation" that I admit to liking is the one sung by the girl from Trainspotting.

I wanted to search for the name of the place online, a photo... stunning, it seems there are no memories left of the WTC pre 9/11...

I didn't know Albarn was involved, just when chapter 2 of Gorillaz is supposed to drop... anyway, after listening to the pointless cover of that little masterpiece of a joker, I couldn't muster any interest in the rest, and I'm not even the only one who reacted this way... it seems this album has been dramatically ignored everywhere, and to think that back then Rockafella Skank and Praise You were truly everywhere... so alright for dinner, maybe in New York again? And since we're at it, let's all dance to LCD Soundsystem, way better than this stuff!

tribulations is phenomenal, I could listen to it 24/7 with a goofy face (and what does it take...) daft punk etc. instead it leaves me a bit perplexed, the riff reminds me too much of whiteout by bosshog and from there the memory of martinez wriggling overshadows everything :D
