Big Brother & The Holding Company feat. Janis Joplin Cheap Thrills

Just for "summertime" and the heartfelt desperation with which she sings it, giving you chills and the urge to scream it out, it's a masterpiece... and the beautiful review for the consideration of the penultimate sentence. Although I doubt such a strained voice could have held up for long at those levels.

So, I haven't really read any of the previous comments (too long for the topic), but I find that the review says practically nothing. I like the album; it's not genius, but it's made very well. It’s not original, but the melodies are nice. It’s not a masterpiece, but the lyrics are pretty nice (nothing more than pretty nice, though...). He has a moderately pleasant voice, one of those you rarely hate but even less often love. They’re a sentimental band, with nice sounds and a certain creativity (which is not the same as originality, just to be clear). In short, "we all know that reason doesn't always help," and yet hearing it said feels good. The same goes for the album. Maybe a review that doesn’t say anything is fine... well, I was about to give you a two, but I’ve convinced myself to give you more.

I gave a three because if I didn't rate it, it wouldn't send me the message (if someone knows, is this a problem of mine or the site???), and the middle seems fair for something I don't know...

But, let's say you make beautiful music (I’ve never listened to it, for the, wanting to be stupid, reason I’m about to illustrate), how the hell do you call yourself practically the same as someone who, aside from a thousand other useless songs from every point of view, even made one with a spice görl???

If only it were really the farewell album, damn, that would have been good and right... and dignified. Instead, they managed to release a best of as well... heck.

what a drag these meatadiscussions about albums that really have nothing to do with the albums themselves... and then if I write a comment I get a thousand notifications for this bullshit... yaz!!!!
Anyway, the album simply doesn't appeal to me that much, worse than all the ones that came before it but better than those that followed. Then opinions, which for me are extremely personal regarding the pj, have nothing to do with technique or commercial validity. It's a nice album, quite enjoyable, but in my opinion, not brilliant.
