I recently discovered this site and read this review. Unfortunately, I must acknowledge that ignorance is rampant even among those, like me, who know and listen to bands of a certain artistic depth that require a minimum cultural and musical background to be appreciated. The reviewer repeatedly demonstrates an ignorance typical of an ultras fan of a football team, whose favorite group is the Spice Girls. I saw your personal page, dear wwwhatemoornet, and I noticed that you were born in 1987: I don’t think you have much experience in this field. I am 10 years older than you and have been listening to metal since 1990; I’ve known Dream Theater since the days of Images and Words, and they are one of my favorite bands along with Symphony X, whom I’ve known since 1998. I understood one simple thing that everyone else has grasped unlike you: they play two DIFFERENT genres, not completely different, but still DIFFERENT, do you understand? Therefore, they are not comparable.
Moreover, this is not about two football teams competing against each other; there are no “fans” of Dream or Symphony here. Music is not just for headbanging; also, learn to respect the tastes of others. Keep your hatred for Dream to yourself; we are not interested: there are millions of people in the world who adore them, people certainly more intelligent than you.
