Strange choice of yours, Puny, but I find myself in agreement: aside from the fact that I have a real obsession with statues, this one is absolutely the masterpiece par excellence (along with the other one mentioned by Panapp). However, I must defend Puny regarding the debate between hand/butt-hand/no butt. The left hand is on the hip with a firm yet gentle grip, and the right hand is on the thigh, so no buttocks! Unfortunately, no photo does justice to the original, particularly because it is of imposing size, and if one hasn’t had the luck to see it live and up close, it’s difficult to understand by just looking at its countless images. One thing I criticize, though, Puny, or perhaps I just didn’t understand: "It’s thanks to the skillful play of light and shadow in this framing that we perceive the masterful use of space..." Why do you mention light and shadow in the framing? Are we talking about the statue or the photo? It’s not exactly clear what you mean... Tell me please...

I also really like Cappio, which you helped me discover... and thank goodness :)
