I still have to see it, which I want to do soon. I've heard nothing but good things about it...

Sorry Friscio, we posted together and I'm only now reading your very comprehensive last comment, so I have no more doubts. You were very clear. Thank you! So I must infer that you have a stereo system with contramaroni? If I had the CD in question, I don't think it would shine on my modest stereo anyway, unfortunately...

My dear and most devoted Sfasciacarrozze and heads, I, being a woman of the world and of a certain age, can fully understand you and also confirm my possession of an antique specimen of a renowned brand whose name I cannot disclose at this moment, plus a sub-brand specimen with a set that includes liquid detergent with which to soak the tape cleaning slider!!! Hurry, hurry, dear gentlemen and ladies!!!

The feeling I had, with the images (and films like "The Thin Red Line") in mind, looking at those calm waters and hearing the soothing whistle of the summer wind, thinking about what was happening there more than sixty years ago, I just can't describe it..

Keep writing just as you do, my dear. I read your redundant parts with passion. I watched the movie in one go, and it remains among my all-time favorites. Kim Rossi Stuart, siiiiggghh, I could watch all his films back to back for hours. In my opinion, this film has some serious cojones... I've never wanted to watch the series because I was afraid of "contaminating" the feeling left by the movie, but if you say it's worth it, I'll get on it... A hug and a little scratch under the chin, scrut scrut...
