Maybe in the comparison Wilder/Depp, Wilder comes out on top, but the colors and vibrancy of this new Burton work fill some gaps (and modernize) the story from '71. Not at all a "crazy mess," rather a thoughtful remake, even though the choice to cast Depp feels forced, given that he is no longer having issues with Burton... Depp is everywhere now, let’s face it (even though I have nothing against him)...
