I agree. Unusual, you really messed up. The commercial Faust albums are like the Blue concept albums, not sure if I'm making myself clear...

Well done, excellent review and great "description" of the first LP, brilliant but inhuman. I agree with everything, except for the rating which, for me, isn't quite a full 5. I'll abstain...

I would say that the 5 is a must, at least for its historical significance. Tastes are a different matter altogether.

Damn, Lift Yr Skinny Fists is a solid pillar of Post. Don't tear it down like this if you can't appreciate it. A genre lover can't stand hearing such things about a masterpiece like this, damn it.. :)

I add that a few years ago I would have never expected to listen to Jewish music mixed with jazz (and to enjoy it too). A Zornian miracle.

If we mean an integral part of the movement between the 90s and 2000s, then I’ll tell you: all the albums by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, ( ) by Sigur Rós, but also "Engine Takes to the Water" by June of 44, "All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone" by Explosions in the Sky (released last year), "Young Team" by Mogwai, "All Is Violent, All Is Bright" by God Is an Astronaut, "55:12" by Gregor Samsa... Should I keep going? :)

I’ll respond too: Spiderland is stunning and fundamental, but it’s just the foundation of what is later understood as Post-Rock, so it's still a raw sound different from what we hear today in the bands of the genre. It helps to understand the origins, but it’s not an integral part, in my opinion.

First of all, thank you all for the comments. Supersoul, if you read my comments on "13 blues..." carefully, I clearly specified that I was referring to the Silver Mt. Zion who follow THIS album, the only one I consider worthy of them, of a band born from the ashes of those geniuses of Godspeed. Simply because the subsequent albums violently abandon this style, and become significantly more boring, in my opinion. De gustibus, but I believe that the finesse with which this album is constructed cannot be found in the following works. I hope I’ve made myself clear.
