I’ll start by saying that I haven’t listened to this EP, but I have to say I did listen to "Fear of a Blank Planet"! I must admit we are still quite far from progressive metal, which is why I believe this label is misapplied to PT. There are some metal interludes, to be clear; the guitars are heavier than before, but we also need to consider the many tracks that are still composed without any metal sound. In my opinion, Wilson is still working within primarily rock frameworks, obviously with evident prog metal influences... I think we need to wait even longer to see if these influences will eventually outweigh his rock attitude. Yes, we need to wait a bit more. Personally, I hope Wilson stays away from metal because in certain passages he really writes some ghastly stuff, you know. Great review!

"For your information: at 14 years old, I wrote songs, and they were metal songs. Lyrics and music, and they were liked too, if that's what you want to know!" But how clever! When I was 8, I was writing for piano, maybe they were just some nonsense for fun, but who can say? Relatives were clapping, so probably they liked my stuff... a bit like your metal songs, huh? But above all, did they have metal music and lyrics? And what the hell are metal lyrics like? Wait a minute, no, don’t tell me, let me figure it out myself: so, murders, mutilations, coprophagia on one hand, church burnings and upside-down crosses on the other, beer and engines on one side, dragons and goblins on the other... did I forget something? Long live the cliché festival! Luca, in my opinion, without offense, you don’t understand a damn thing about metal, just like you don’t understand a damn thing about how music should be understood. You can reason, but your arrogance clouds your judgment. bai

Ah Luca, if you really want to have a discussion, I would kindly ask you not to break your apologies into 800 very long posts. You know how it is, personally I don't have all that time to waste, so I think others might feel the same. However, I wouldn’t mind debating the issue again.

Luca said many, many right things! It's a shame he fell back into that attitude of a faux expert that has developed over time, stepping away from listening to metal, too dazzled by it to concentrate for a moment on distinguishing the crap from what isn’t, even limited to metal. The fact that you, Luca, think there are only 30 valid albums in metal demonstrates something very annoying: your musical ignorance in this area, combined with your arrogance. All of this linked to the fact that you throw in the classic band that sounds so cool [oh the Fugazi! wake up, do you really think Fugazi sold less than these Battleroar? (clarification: I hate all classic power/epic/heavy, so I'm not defending a damn thing!)] in your nice little speech. My dear, in your words I sense something of frustration; I think you blame yourself for discovering the "real music" (but what is this real music anyway? Are there standards to define it?) too late, after you've spent a good part of your life listening to the little metal nonsense that all the punk kids with spikes listen to in high school. Well, just to clarify, I have never been a metalhead and I'm proud of not having been one, I haven't been punk, I haven't been prog-hippy and all that crap to demonstrate to you, since it seems that PRESUMPTION comes into play, that I have very open views since I entered the world of music, and you know what I tell you, still with PRESUMPTION? I believe I understand quite a bit more about music than you do. It's a pity I don’t go waving it around in reviews of genres that make me sick. With this, I conclude, I repeat, you said very right things, many very right things (excuse the pun), but it seems that beyond the teenage metal kids you need to grow up too. Bye.

"I'm staying home because it's better, I'm out of control" anyway Bartle you made a mistake, it says it takes a DOCTOR for my depression :D:D:D "but what a beautiful deprescscscion, I see another version of myself, with punk hair, I'm at the end of the world" who’s going to write a review? but what do you care about the best metal album, just listen to Valerio Rivoli :D in the next music review he does, I’m going to express my admiration for the beautiful "Come sono depresso"! I don’t understand why people say he makes songs like "kiss me licia"

cpt but that's exactly why Hellring said something ridiculous! I meant exactly what you just said! It's absurd and stupid/adolescent to say that some random guy (even if it's Harris) invented Metal, precisely because the process of "genesis" involves an endless number of pioneering bands, from Zeppelin to AC/DC, from Iron Butterfly to Deep Purple, from Black Sabbath to Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy, then Priest and Motorhead. Even this list of mine is certainly nonsense, but I just wanted to explain that claiming a single person has been able to create an entire music genre is a big S-H-I-T.
