noting, among other things, the wise use of the consecutio temporum... absolutely revolutionary! ah, rudess with that fisher price keyboard around his neck, he looks like the classic 80s disco dude with long, slicked-back, greasy hair... you know those "kind of like that" characters who accompanied Masini in his very old videos and concerts?

And, I repeat for the umpteenth time, I spoke exclusively from the "musical point of view." IN THIS CASE, I couldn't care less about the improbable "revolution," genius idea, conceptual upheaval, etc., so I don't care to get into it.

I don’t know what to tell you. If you think it takes some kind of genius to compose this stuff (note, I say compose, I’m referring to the specific act of writing music, not the act of ideating, sketching the characteristics of a new ā€œgenre,ā€ or revolutionizing! Damn it, we’re talking first and foremost about music, then about everything else), that’s your problem… For me, it’s foolish those who exalt the Sunn to an unbelievable extent, and I'm not talking about you because I've only seen one out of five, and in any case… As for superficiality, you’re mistaken. I’ve listened carefully to some albums by both Earth and Sunn, carefully, I repeat! Obviously, I’m not going to do their entire discography; I don’t give a damn if it makes my balls drop to the ground, I won’t start listening to all the stuff they’ve produced, but I pay attention to the albums considered ā€œmust.ā€ Anyway, I was saying, I listened to them trying not to get distracted, and with all goodwill, I couldn’t understand how they could have ā€œsuccess.ā€ In my opinion, they have no compositional, technical, or ā€œemotionalā€ skills… Earth (with 2) really suck, way worse than Sunn, but then I listen to albums like HEX, well-made, and I have to rethink! But HEX isn’t drone, precisely… In short, this is my opinion, I don’t think I’ve offended anyone (except Sunn & co), or if I did, I apologize, but at least respect my opinion. For you, it might be foolish, okay, but don’t come and tell me it’s superficial, because I can guarantee you it’s not.

yes yes, but I wasn't making a point about virtuosity either, also because I have no idea how these guys actually play... maybe in their other bands they are flamboyant musicians!!! it's just that to "non-instrumental-capability" I added the non-compositional-capability, which, at least in this Sunn O))) project, is evident... maybe, I repeat, in their other bands the situation is different. But we are talking about Sunn here, and that's who I'm referring to... it doesn't seem to me like music that is "born and sweated," developed with effort, as it always should be. My point, anyway, aerosiphon, was only about the drone.

@4urelio: I'm sorry, the "go fuck yourself" was an exaggeration, I take it back and I apologize, but really the next few days are going to be tough, everyone talking about this fucking concert... what a drag! Anyway, regarding Labrie, I wasn't referring to what you said, but to those who think that the DT technique is indisputable. In any case, I’m sorry but I stand by my opinion: 90% (maybe more) of the people who went to the DT concert are "inobiettiva" to the core... it's a characteristic of the average DT fan! (I’m not saying you’re a fan!) The Symphony X, on the other hand, are truly pathetic, Romeo is a terrible guitarist, flat as a 4-year-old girl.

Ah, just a moment... now that I think about it, Rudess composed "One Last Time," perhaps in an attempt to emulate/copy/imitate the piano ballad of his friend Moore... well, in comparison, I would say he started off on the wrong foot. However, let's not always be critical; it's not bad, but we must also consider that perhaps Scenes from a Memory could redeem itself in the discography of the theater (obviously after Awake and I&W)... the rest, for me, is crap.

I have no idea what aerosiphon meant :D (someone might say: "but what could they have meant?"), but I can say with serenity that Sunn O))), Earth, and their drone companions really piss me off. We are at the exaltation of non-music, non-composition, non-instrumental ability... and please, don't come tell me that it takes class and sweat to compose this stuff, because that would mean you've never written a note in your life. Then again, I won't argue that this kind of "music" might appeal to some, though...

What a drag, it's for people like you that I have to endure the wave of nonsense from those who attended the concert... oh, if only there were one objective person who saw the live show!!! Piss off! Ah... are you really so sure that the DT have all this unreachable technique? Labrie messes up a ton of times (and he does it on Live at Budokan, which should be an official DVD, imagine in live shows, but those who attended are too biased to admit it, as I said before); Portnoy gets bashed by tons of drummers, metal and otherwise!; Rudess, for heaven's sake, is an abomination of a keyboardist, how can you say he's technical? He plays millions of notes randomly!!! Look, it's not hard to move your hand randomly on the keyboard... give it a try! Kevin Moore was infinitely better, even in terms of composition: would Rudess ever be capable of writing Space Dye Vest? I don't think so... he loves those silly parapara pori puri poriporipori nonsense with those hideous synths! Oh my god, I have chills.

in my opinion... forget about Trollfest, they are really too silly! Korpiklaani is better! then, still in the folk metal realm, although less beer-oriented, Otyg (some of their arrangements are really well done)
