Arnold, I'm really sorry, I don't want to argue anymore, at least not about this review. I know very well that YOU are keeping things low-key, but I’m getting fed up, in between my comments, reading the nonsense written by mauroprog or whoever. Now, with your permission, I'm stepping away, goodbye.

then honestly I don't feel like talking anymore with someone who says "anderson bravissimo" "bellissimo" "voce bella" and these Nobel Prize expressions... so, mauroprog, now I'm telling you, for me you're nothing more than a silly kid. cheers to you.

Well, if you are convinced of what you're saying, and that I have been hit by radiation, I don't know what to tell you; stick to your beliefs. As far as I'm concerned, given the situation, this is the last time I'm getting involved in reviews where certain characters are commented on, since it has truly become a challenge to have an intelligent discussion here on Debaser. Apparently, intelligence is no longer in fashion...

@Arnold: I think so, personal opinions. @MAUROProg: you just behave yourself, because if I was polite last time, this is the time I’ll tell you to fuck off! So relax and stop acting like the last idiot who showed up after school ended. Thanks!

I don't like the review, I don't like the current Smashings either, but you deserve my respect just for your personal battle against that fucking Poletti who has monopolized the other section (the ophthalmology one, ugly, dirty, mean, ridiculous) of the site. Keep it up!

and unfortunately this was one of the worst flaws of music at that time. impeccable instrumentalists who wanted and had to play exclusively with a technical singer, who favored choirs, vocal exercises and various nonsense, to the detriment of expressiveness or perhaps a search for settings that strayed from the 60s-70s standards.

I'm not talking about 5, I repeat, millions! For the simple fact that the singers of those years, aside from the few shining exceptions that I would never dare to judge as few, mostly adopted the same vocal tone. It seems undeniable to me... you don't even need a great ear for this.

Anyway, the blues is there; just the first few seconds of "Siberian Kathru," or however the hell it's spelled, are proof of that.

Oh God, Yes. Let's start with Anderson: a singer like there were millions in those days, without a unique style, without a distinct personality. If someone had to describe the archetypal 70s singer, they would refer to Jon. "And you and I," a piece with the most simplistic melodies, even in this genre, listened to by millions. The best is "close to the edge," but it has an incredibly cheesy intro and some absurdly corny bridges too! An appropriate review.
