John Coltrane The Complete Africa/Brass Sessions

this is one of the very first jazz records I got into. "Blues Minor" is a little gem, "Africa" a masterpiece.

As you can see from the comment above, everyone has their own opinion, but this type of comment falls within the average of DeBaser, which neither warms nor cools. That's why it makes a difference.

Perhaps I will also be the only one who glimpses "the soul" in this review, but at least grant me the benefit of the doubt.

My "given the role they play" refers to the fact that it's one thing if a comment is left by just any user, and another if it’s left by an editor, especially if the editorial line really aligns with the one from the editorial of October 13th. Personally, if I wanted to write a more personal review, I would refrain from doing so, for whatever value this consideration may have. I was struck precisely because the comment comes from someone I respect; as I’ve already said, Fidia's comments are average compared to those on Debaser and neither heat nor cool. Regarding all other editing matters and various issues, I’m sure you’re right.

Personally, I found it offensive to see Irene from the story referred to as "the maid at her aunt's house with two bad and Calabrian stepsisters." If I had written it, I would have been very disappointed. Of course, I didn't write it; I just want to say that, for me, it's quite an unfortunate joke. Above all, it wasn't meant to be a personal attack, but oh well.

I believe that the arrogance of always having to express one's opinion is all in post number 2, but of course these are personal opinions. For your comments, Carlo Cimmino’s responses are more than sufficient. It's obvious that those who write about their personal experiences do so at their own risk, and I believe Carlo knows this well. One should expect anything from the general audience, from insults to personal attacks; it's certainly not a novelty. What I found at least unfortunate is the final part of comment 7, which can be seen as offensive, especially given the role that Bartle occupies. However, I consider Bartle to be a very intelligent person and I believe he understands the essence of my criticism.

Personally, I find some comments a bit out of place and quite irritating. Obviously, this is not new, and some of them are hardly surprising, but others, on the other hand, are, at least for me. This is an editorial from a few months ago: "What do we look for in a review when we already have everything online? On DeBaser, I want to read the soul of the reviewers, the emotions of others, and understand if they are similar to mine; if I wanted info about David Bowie, DeBaser would be just another site among many. But we want emotions, we want to know if something makes a person tremble like it makes me tremble. At least that’s what I seek, with fetishism, like a voyer, the dirtiest of voyeurs, a voyeur of souls." Beautiful review.
