"Co-written by Iggy Pop and David Bowie, the song is known for its Motown Shuffle drumbeat which opens the song. The rhythm was originally used in the song You Can't Hurry Love, written by the Holland-Dozier-Holland songwriting team and performed by The Supremes". here you go with the nonsense.

At this point, the nonsense is being said by Ricky Gardiner and the producer of Get Born. Or maybe it's you?

Ricky Gardiner (guitarist on Lust For Life) answers a specific question by stating that the riff for Lust For Life was taken from the Supremes (Can't Hurry Love). He also adds that Iggy Pop has always been a great admirer of the Supremes and Diana Ross in particular. All of this was mentioned in Rolling Stone, though I don't remember when, but I still have it. I'll quote exactly what the guitarist who plays that riff said. If he told you something different, then the conversation changes completely. Then you, dear sparrowhawk, are the classic type who will claim that Jet copy, but when someone tells you that the Stooges copy, you dismiss it outright. Instead, it works like this: everyone copies and has copied, some do it well and some do it poorly. Get used to it. As for the Stooges, to say they are backward is one of the biggest bullshit I've read in here. As for Jet, precisely because the similarity to Lust For Life is very strong, the producer of Get Born, whose name I can't recall, was asked if there was any possibility that Iggy Pop would ask for royalties or at least sue the Australian group. And the producer replies that if anyone has that chance, it's not the Stooges but Golden Earring.

that riff the Jet didn’t take from Lust For Life, they took it from "Radar Love" by Golden Earring. And Iggy can't complain because he took the riff from "You Can't Hurry Love" by The Supremes, according to his own guitarist (whose name escapes me now). For the rest, the usual sterile controversies.

But just imagine Aretha Franklin touring with Bolan, what the hell does that have to do with it? Besides, she wasn't a young backing vocalist; she was in her thirties at the time, already at the peak of her career after releasing "Lady Soul" and "Aretha Now." And during that period, she was on tour for her own gigs, as evidenced by the live album "Aretha Live at Fillmore West." I repeat: what the hell does that have to do with Bolan? It never happened.

"The Weeping Song," perhaps the most beautiful by Nicola Caverna, and then "Lucy."

No, this isn't the first album. I don't mind it that much. The first one had a cover of Robert Johnson that was one of the best ever made, much better than the Rolling Stones' version from Exile On Main Street. "Stop Breakin' Down" was if I'm not mistaken.
