Just yesterday I was listening to their "At Home." Love Buzz is much better in the version by Shocking Blue, with that drum solo, and then the entire album makes heavy use of sitar, nice story.

they weren't the first, Hendrix in some tracks used tunings 2 tones down, see Hear My Train A-Comin' for example. And anyway, it was already used in blues.
