Don't despair, Roma fans, just finish second even with 50 points and they'll give you this scudetto at the table in a couple of years.

I had already linked this interview in the last review of Steve Vai, but I'm posting it here again; I find it incredibly useful for truly understanding the character of Malmsteen: Accordo 5 - Error

@Surferkangaroo: I hadn't read the comment, but it says exactly what I think. As for the rest, I say that Malmsteen is technically monstrous, in my opinion superior to Vai. But you can't discuss other types of things about him. More than saying "he's faster than...", "he's more technical than..." you can't do that with someone like Malmsteen. Somewhere I read that there is an album cover (I think it's Batio's but I could be wrong because I haven't seen it) where the album's author urinates on the graves of Malmsteen and Steve Vai. Their followers are these fanatics, not some legendary metal trend they supposedly founded or invented, however you want to put it.

And anyway, I would step out of the mined territory of those who must be valued only in terms of inventions. Steve Vai, Malmsteen, or folks like Batio have no merit for inventing anything at all. They copy left and right, some from Zappa, some from Paganini, a bit from one and a bit from the other. These guys should be remembered for their inhuman technique on the guitar and nothing more. By the way, I remember seeing a video of Malmsteen where he showed how to play the blues (not a joke) at 3000 miles an hour. Well, that’s not how you play the blues; that’s not blues. The problem with these people is they don’t understand that you can practice guitar for 8 hours a day like Steve Vai does, but certain things are not learned; you either have them or you don’t.

I don't agree with your view of Malmsteen as the link between what you said (if we really want to force that role, Van Halen could fit in, but it's very much a stretch). The solo in "Rising Force" reminds me a lot of the second solo in "Sultans Of Swing."

Well, one could always review the Remasters as if they were new albums, and therefore not yet reviewed.

Jerry Lee Lewis The Mercury Years Vol. 1 - 2 - 3

his is the best version of Real Wild Child (Wild One), made famous by Iggy Pop, and included in "18 original sun greatest hits" as supersoul mentioned. I don't know this compilation, but I remember seeing Jerry Lewis play the piano with his feet, and that's enough for me to give it 5.
