Have you noticed how the target of the winner is that of the young, handsome guy with a crew cut? I knew a girl who was very good, a sort of homegrown Aretha Franklin, who didn’t win even though she was technically much more gifted. One small detail: she was overweight. The goal is to churn out a money-making machine to squeeze money out of the little girls aged 11 and up. A rating for the commercial operation: simply genius.
