Slipknot All Hope Is Gone

Chaos A.D. literally left me speechless; I had come to this page to write the same things. Probably if they had released another album after Iowa full of noise, insults, and misanthropy, the game would no longer hold up, and instead, they had the common sense to reinvent themselves, thus disappointing many long-time fans, but demonstrating their true potential. Then, up here on debaser, a good part of the users would slaughter them alive... De gustibus. As for the review, it’s good, even though I find that it’s actually Subliminal Verses that represents their creative peak both in terms of aggression and heaviness, while in this latest album there are some rather banal moments on both sides. However, some tracks are truly valid.

Killing Joke Live @ Venice Airport Festival - Forte Bazzera di Tessera 31.07.2009

Kosmo, the context definitely needs to be nurtured, but I'm sure that even last year at the Rolling Stone in Milan, there weren't as many people as there could be today at a Killers concert, for example. I know, it's pointless to ponder the reasons for success, but the very fact that Killing Joke are playing in a suburban village is indicative of how underrated they are.

Kosmo, you're right. Let's just say that the indignation I was describing has taken over. I realize that the comparison is rather forced (and I emphasize that U2 in the eighties was indeed a great band), but it makes my blood boil a little when I hear comments like: "What a show the U2 concert was, 100 euros well spent. And Bono, what a great man... So, have you been to any concerts lately?" - Yes, I saw Killing Joke. "Who the hell are they?!" So yes, live and let live, but to see that there were fewer people in Tessera than usual, even at a concert of any U2 cover band, really left me bitter. So there’s my venting.
Dream Theater Images And Words

"Underrated Dream Theater": dear Nicola, not to sound like a know-it-all, but do you know what "underrated" means? I'm asking you because Dream Theater are the exact opposite. Probably if I were to compile a thesaurus of synonyms and antonyms, for the various options of antonyms of the word "underrated," I would specifically cite Dream Theater, as well as an option for synonyms of "overrated." No offense, but I don’t feel like reading the entire review or rating it; sorry, but I can't take these fucking Dream Theater anymore!
Ozzy Osbourne Blizzard of Ozz

A mixed review; in some parts it’s well written, in others it’s quite imprecise (ā€œOzzy Osbourne, after his departure from Black Sabbath, reinvents himself as a musicianā€: mmm, not quite, Ozzy has never been a musician and even in his solo works, he has always written little music). Personally, while I’m a fanatic of Black Sabbath, I’m not that crazy about Ozzy as a solo artist (to put it mildly, since, as some rightly point out, he has always surrounded himself with incredibly badass musicians!). However, that hasn’t stopped me from enjoying this album quite a bit.

I still need to listen to this album; I've heard good things about it. But I'm not sure I'll like it because I don't like American hard rock in the Van Halen style. Not a great review, I'm sorry. I agree with Cornell: even if you're 14, you should write better. The track-by-track approach is a trap that many fall into in their early writings (myself included), but this page shows a poor command of the language, even for someone very young. I hope to read you again and see improvements. Bis bald.

Hands off the Deftones! Putting them on the same wavelength as Linkin Park is an abomination! And then, music is only good when it's angry?! Music is beautiful because it's diverse, so sometimes a bit of Limp Bizkit-style trashiness is refreshing! Honestly, I regret not going to Rock In Idro and not seeing them with Faith No More. Of course, taste is subjective, but we’re here to discuss it :-)
Nino D'Angelo Il Ragù con la Guerra
Voto:
"I don't understand what Nino D'Angelo, who is from Naples, has to do with Palermo": Nino D'Angelo is very popular throughout the South, as is the entire neomelodic movement. It's well written, but I've never been able to appreciate traditional Neapolitan music, starting from Mario Merola and ending with Gigi D'Alessio. I hope those who love it and consider it an artistic heritage of Naples won't hold it against me.

The version contained here of A Quick One is the one from the Rolling Stones Rock'n'Roll Circus. Since you were so precise in citing the origins of the other pieces, you couldn't possibly omit that of the track taken from the legendary Rolling Stones R'n'R Circus! :-)
