You write a review of the concert and you don't even mention that Will Haven played before them? Damn, a band that has 10 times the importance of Tones in post-hardcore and noise, and you don’t even mention them?

It will arrive this week, and I'll update you as soon as possible. The dream that this album surpasses my beloved "Occupational Hazard" is always in my heart.

Just to say, they will perform on July 14 at the Frozen Rock fest in Marcon VE along with Meshuggah, Entombed, Dillinger Escape Plan, and those assholes My Dying Bride.

Do you keep original Time? Awesome. I agree with your speech, it makes sense. Among Crowbar, my favorites are "time.." and "Sonic Excess..:" just for how that album starts with ā€œlasting Dose.ā€ And I swear I didn’t like the last Lifesblood that much; it’s the one I’ve listened to the least, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that, like all their albums, it’s of excellent quality. I don’t know, I love Crowbar, but I don’t consider them pure sludge in sound, though they definitely have the attitude. Windstein is the main composer of Down, more than Pepper, and Down is probably the best band around with influences related to sludge, so honor to him and his shoes, which are exactly like mine, and he wore them at Gods Of Metal for me. I keep Confrontation original, but I keep it close, that album is tear-jerking. I saw the Joint live at a friend's place, and despite our precarious physical conditions, I appreciated it; it should arrive soon, I ordered it three months ago... the best sludge bands are always those three because making sludge is tough, and many famous bands (like Grief) have gone down in history but have always made short albums.

I wasn't downplaying it, I was teasing Falgoust. Soilent Green is the most devastating sludgecore band on Earth, but they are truly unmatched. That said, cheers to Bermuda shorts. Summer is coming and I'm getting ready to shave my legs to show off my best self (under the shorts, obviously).

In fact, the album flies in some parts, while in others it’s absolutely repetitive, but it’s not very sludge; it feels like punk hardcore to me, come on. There isn't a single riff that's sludgy; Eyehategod are the undisputed kings of the "pure" sludge sound (which also means painfully repetitive, but take it or leave it). Crowbar lean too much towards melodic scraps that vary from the sublime to the banal, and with Ritual, you listen but don’t even shout about it being a great album.

Even more emo? Justin keeps having his woman taken away from him repeatedly, getting more and more emo.

Album of the year no (since the new Earth just came out, three tracks re-recorded in the HEX style + various footage, well it's not new, who cares), but still a great record anyway.
