Pink Floyd The Final Cut
Voto:
The Final Cut, for me, being a "fetishist" of Pink Floyd, is the third most beautiful album in their career. The first is "Dark Side," the second is "The Wall," the fourth is "More." Well, it's a pity it was the last with Waters. Instead, those with Gilmour, who plays the new Waters, are nice, huh? Bah... Anyway, the phrase in Italian is "scusi dov'è il bar," which Waters also sings in "Not Now John" towards the end in various languages (also in French: s'il vous plaît, où est le bar?).
Ah, it's not true that they are the leftovers from The Wall! I say this because initially, that’s how it was meant to be, but with England's involvement in the Falklands, driven by the Iron Lady, Waters completely changed the plans. At first, it was supposed to be called "Spare Bricks." That Waters is an asshole is almost beyond doubt, but that he doesn't understand anything about music... considering that he wrote all of The Wall (and judging by the demos I possess, the others didn’t contribute much, I swear! Except for "Comfortably Numb" and "Run Like Hell," which are definitely masterpieces by Gilmour).
Well, I've annoyed you, huh? :)

Hey Enea, can you believe we have the same tastes!... compliments, great review and for me this is a fundamental album for anyone who digs Pink Floyd. "Stay" is a little gem. Did you know that with "Childhood's End" Gilmour stopped writing lyrics for Pink Floyd forever, at least until Waters left? The thing is, just when they were about to start recording that song, Gilmour still hadn't finished the lyrics! Frustrated, the others suspended Gilmour from writing the lyrics. Anyway, the guitarist admits he's not exactly a whiz at it! :)

Hi Sylvian,
So it's the same for you, huh? But in the hardcover version the title is correct, how strange! I wonder if it's wrong in all classic hardcover versions or not... Bye!

I don't know if you noticed, but in some editions of this album in the CD version, on the back cover, the song "prendi fra le mani la testa" is titled "prendi fra le mani la terra." Inside, on the CD, it's correctly written. I own this "erroneous" version, which is not the cardboard one, but the classic with the plastic case. Maybe it's very common and you all have it, anyway it was just a curiosity I wanted to share with you! :)

It's interesting how in "this pink hell" there's that curious guitar reference that introduces "venus" by the "shocking blue." I really enjoy these musical provocations! I would compare this pink hell to "the soft parade" by the doors in terms of musical complexity.

I will be curious to read this review on Don Giovanni, then... :)
