I have it in reading. I read a chapter, set it aside, read another book, then pick it up again and read another chapter. A full immersion would be too demanding. It's an immense book, but stylistically it can be quite challenging, especially certain chapters, considering that everyone has a different style.

A brief review for an album that deserves more words, especially regarding the leap into the void taken without the parachute of Quincy Jones. It’s surprising how the sound is still clean and far from outdated.

In a perpetual state of grace. I wouldn't have expected such a staggering evolution. This latest album is a bucolic pleasure rich in sonic refinements.
Lady Gaga Chromatica
Voto:
In my opinion, it’s a 3.5 album for at least two reasons:
- songs are too short, almost suffocating on the first listens. Too compressed. A few more instrumental sequences would have helped;
- Here, Gaga plays it safe, with a refined 90s dance sound (kudos for avoiding the usual 80s revival), but lacks the insights that characterize her take on pop.
ps.
Confessions on a dancefloor stands apart, probably Madonna's last memorable work. Here in Chromatica, there's a lack of that almost philological research into dance that is present in Confessions.

I listen again and still can’t wrap my head around such a precise and cerebral stylistic choice. Cerebral in the sense that it lacks feeling, and the album presents itself as a machine without imperfections, yet also flattened onto a colorless, breathless 90s dance vibe, devoid of even the slightest digression. It certainly works and is a great piece of craftsmanship, but the excessive glory days of "Born This Way" are missing. Let’s skip over the whiny and pathetic content of the lyrics. If the intention was to make a dance album like Madonna’s "Confessions," it remains an example of how to be light and also conduct a philological and engaging exploration of disco music.

I need to listen to it again, but for now, it feels like the same 90s dance song repeated for 40 minutes. Very cohesive and tight, maybe too much. The acoustic version of 1000 doves from the deluxe edition is a breath of fresh air.

Listened to until exhaustion. For those who appreciate certain 70s disco sounds and vintage electronics, this album is a gem, almost a definitive listen.
Tori Amos Native Invader

She got married and had a daughter. When you write angry and very emotional music and finally find fulfillment in reality, you inevitably lose your edge unless you draw from a whole new inspiration.

In my opinion, Tori Amos has gotten quite bloated over the last 10 years. In this album, I found some beautiful tracks, especially the first one, Reindeer King, but in others, I notice somewhat plasticky arrangements that weigh down the overall result, as has already happened in other albums (American Doll Posse, abnormally attracted to sin especially).
I completely skipped the political aspect. I find the late Tori Amos's liberal/environmentalist stances quite tedious. They seem generated on mental autopilot, somewhat superficially. I preferred her when she was more introspective and angry.
