The Bastard Sons of Dioniso L'Amor Carnale

@lux...I don't have a problem with Pixies or Sonic Youth moving to a major label either...but both had a "solid" underground path and certainly didn't become known by participating in music competitions on TV...in any case, they maintained a consistency...meaning that, after all, not everyone in the world listens to them (although even the stones know "Where Is My Mind" :D)...and more importantly...both were innovative bands in a certain sense...the Bastards, on the other hand, sound like a ton of other bands that play gigs in clubs...they probably wouldn't even know what stoner rock means...

This year I watched a few episodes of X Factor... just out of pure curiosity... and I have to say it seems like a fairly honest show to me... or at least more honest than Amici and Sanremo (also thanks to that sellout Morgan :D)... the fact remains that I haven't seen much talent... these guys played at being alternative throughout the program... but in reality they're the most pop of them all... they're total ignoramuses (as Azzo already said) and while they might have gotten some gigs in clubs... I won't dispute that... but playing in clubs doesn't mean being connoisseurs of the underground... it reminds me of something Alessio said regarding the compilation released by the After... I think the concept of indie, more out of bad luck than choice, fits these guys perfectly... to hear a band that sounds like this and writes much better lyrics, you just have to go to the first bar where they have live concerts... to hear One Dimensional Man and Teatro degli Orrori or Vasco Brondi, no...

I read The Strange Case and this by Stevenson... both truly beautiful even if... as nosebleed says... deeply different... John Silver became one of my heroes...

great fiquata (or should I keep calling you ale?)...nice reference to Peter Handke and Wim Wenders at the beginning...

@gustavo... I don't think Vasco's fans will change their minds in front of all the groups you've mentioned... they don't even know what critical thinking is... the fact is that to have technique, you just need to add a bit of flashiness with some solos and make anyone who doesn't understand anything about music say <<madonna quanto sei bravo!>>... to be a "singer of generations," you just need to put lyrics into songs that even an illiterate person could understand, and that way you earn the title of poet... the problem is that it's only like this in Italy... in France, for example, so-called mainstream music is of very high quality... take Noir Désir as an example... or Indochine... anyway, enough with these discussions that are old and overdone on Debaser, besides being tedious... it was just a vent from me...

Vasco has always made me really sick... but even more sickening are his latest fans... because let's face it... nowadays at Vasco's concerts you find all sorts... everyone happily rebellious... not to sound snobbish... but a big part of the people who listen to this illegal parking attendant have no musical culture... in fact, they have no culture at all... they're ridiculous sheep who call him a poet, damn it... they don’t realize how shallow his lyrics are... but what I can’t stand even more is this desperate search for an idol... maybe it’s just that I’m feeling really low these days and my pessimism clings to everything... but this situation has really broken my balls...

@senmayan...and where do you put the frontal assaults?

I liked the other solo channels... he's a fifty-something rocker who doesn't care about losing his voice and keeps doing a ton of dates every year, still rocking hard... he should listen to Canali instead of Vasco... :)

What you think, you didn't express poorly… however, you only focused on a part of the film… completely overlooking what they explained about fiquata and supersoul… I mean… the way you put it makes it seem like the reason for his journey is fleeing from work… and that's not it at all… supertramp wanted to experience life in its most primitive essence… I think the scene where he burns the money is symbolic…
