Negazione Tutti Pazzi 1983 - 1992

Madonna, what did you go and review... Negazione are my favorite Italian punk band... no kidding... there's no one like them... just think, in Turin I managed to find Lo Spirito Continua (my favorite of theirs) at a stall in a market for just 5€... I don't know what I would have given to be a teenager back then and see them live... I love them!

@cappio... anyway, I'm not excited about the movie Trainspotting at all... it's there that it was turned into a comedy... then more than insincere, I find the movie about Christiane too targeted... in fact, I've been told that in the '90s it was often shown in schools precisely to keep kids away from drugs...

no no... I’m referring to some heroin addicts I know (not many, thank goodness)... @iside... on that you’re right... but I’m talking about how she narrated it... I have no doubt about her sincerity... it’s just that, I don’t know... I find "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo" told by someone who experienced it... but has been out of it for a few years (as it seems to me)... while "Trainspotting" feels like it’s written by an addict in the throes of their addiction... that’s the point... in fact, in the first year of high school, the teacher recommended reading "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo" rather than "Trainspotting" (perhaps also for the lesser accessibility of the prose)...

@cappio...both in the book and in the film I found an underlying moralistic tone of "guys...don't do it, you'll ruin your life," and certain scenes are deliberately excessive...that said, I’m not saying that movies of this kind should convey the opposite message or encourage kids to use heroin...however, I prefer more sincere and ironic views like in Trainspotting...and that the film or the book be impartial...also because I personally know some addicts and I can recognize them much more in Welsh's writings than in Christiane F.

@bartle...you are absolutely right when you say that the gods of metal are always the same (and old)...but there are current bands that have a certain fame...why not call the Tul for example? Or I don't know...Opeth...Katatonia as headliners and throw in people like Yob...Forest of Shadows...or Electric Wizard...or many other valid bands in today's metal scene? I don't dispute that Heaven and Hell were gods...but enough...I mean...they could add the adjective old before gods by now...plus it’s disgusting to see all these young metalheads who are not young at all and are just waiting for Slayer or Iron Maiden...come on...

I agree with bartleboom...it's ridiculous to have Motley Crue and Heaven and Hell as headliners...just because they knew they would attract more people...besides Tesla and Voivod, there was nothing that interested me...usually, the gods was one of those events where I used to regret not being there...at least this year, it won't happen...:D

I would say it's a phenomenon that has ONLY sociological relevance :)... for me, musically, grunge means absolutely nothing... the influences that the bands thrown into the mix had were too diverse... in my opinion, taking the taste for mixing noise and melody as the least common denominator is too vague (I mean... okay, it's true... but still, the four most well-known bands I've mentioned earlier have completely different sounds...)

I didn't like the book... more than anything because Christiane tells the story not in real-time... but with the spirit of someone who has already detoxed (which is obvious in her case) and consequently doesn't fully immerse the reader in her personal hell... I prefer Trainspotting by Welsh (so much more brutal... sincere and grotesque...) and Junky by William Burroughs... even the film they made from it doesn't amaze me... the soundtrack, however... well... Heroes speaks for itself :)...

@pixies...so...I personally play the bass and I draw inspiration from Lou Barlow (also on Alessio's advice :D...I don't know anything about "theory" but the effect is pretty cool)...when it comes to singing, I don't know...I kind of go with the flow...we have a guitarist who's quite "noise" and listens to a lot of new wave...then the drummer hits hard (sometimes too hard) and I'm not exactly sure who he draws inspiration from...in general, I’d say our sound resembles that of 80s indie (with a lot of grit)...I would tell you Dinosaur Jr more specifically...I’d love to play psychedelic...but I think I'll have to wait a bit longer...do you play?

I agree with you, infected (we might run into each other at the ISIS :D)...even though it might be a bit warm to sunbathe in a flannel shirt right now...and besides, it’s so not grunge! :)...
