@blech...and what the heck...we could have organized a Cuneo meeting :D (you were only two or three steps behind me, by the way, I was in the front row)...anyway, what a hell of a concert...on The Mercy Seat I felt possessed...what a thing to scream with Nick "aim not afreid tu daaaai"...even Tupelo was terrifying...in short...Nick and Warren Ellis are...St. Vincent left me stunned...she seems interesting but the songs are all like this...dance-industrial base...catchy rock in the choruses...noise hits at the end...there are few times she varied this pattern...although she's super cute as a girl...:D

Yeah... by now, I think there's only Ellis left from the old guard...

The reception is just fine... I was right in the front row, a bit off to the side... but did you understand why Nick was bothering the technician? Rock star tantrums or something else? :D

@supersoul...I have no doubt that THEY have remained hippies not only aesthetically but also in spirit (well...maybe they've stopped with the acid :D)...it's about being different...I mean...WE are no longer in the 60s...seeing a group of hippies on stage gives me the same effect as those middle-aged men with long beards who wander around in flashy clothes pretending to still occupy university faculties and talk about revolution...not that I find them disgusting...but they're anachronistic and come off as pathetic...I really like the Gong...Allen is among the most eclectic characters in the history of music...but I don’t know what impression it would make to see them...then you can also tell me to fuck off and say that I don’t know shit because I wasn’t there in the seventies nor on July 6 to see them...this is just my very personal opinion...to be honest...a bit far-fetched...

The Gong trilogy is a full-blown acid trip...seeing them in the sixties must have been absolutely unique...now, who knows...maybe it was a nice concert...but it feels a bit like nostalgic power flower to me...

@fiquata...well...in my opinion, there is a bit of "craftsmanship" in this album...if craftsmanship means having not so much to say anymore but knowing how to say it well...just like there was in Beyond...but I don’t think that's necessarily a bad thing...after all, we are talking about a band that has already secured its place in history...I don't think J & co are interested in anything other than writing beautiful songs at this point...

@vodoomiles... dark veins? Aside from the fact that I don't hear anything dark here... really nothing dark (and not even in the other Dinosauri albums)... nostalgia yes... but dark definitely no... anyway, I think this album is very summery... Ocean Way feels like a song to sing on the beach at night around the fire (and it has that effect even though it's not acoustic! :D) and overall the album is quite carefree (like all the ones from J's solo period)...

Well... I find the review somewhat so-so... in the sense that it's a bit rhetorical... I would have preferred if you had talked more about the work itself rather than who made it (even though your reflection is, in a way, mandatory)... this album is really beautiful... maybe a bit craft-like... but beautifully raw... as I see it, you can find their folk influences here more than in other albums... it’s recorded with a sound that is much less polished than Beyond... the substantial difference I found is that the latter could, all in all, have also been a younger Dinosaur album... Farm, on the other hand, immediately shows that it was recorded by a band that already has its age and experience... and I don’t see that as a bad thing at all...
